SUNY Farmingdale Spring 2015

Published

Has anyone else applied for Spring 2015? I sent in my application/transcripts about a month ago. I spoke to a guy in admissions yesterday, he told me in about 2 weeks letters will be going out saying to schedule interviews directly with the nursing department. After all the interviews, the nursing department will chose 50 students and acceptance letters would be going out around Dec. 1st. Does anyone know how many students typically apply to this program?

I think it went well and I hope I gave the answers they were looking for. I had an interview with 2 women from the dept. I can't remember their names. The woman who I scheduled the interview with was running late so she wasn't there. I don't think any of us will find out till the thanksgiving/beginning of Dec about acceptances. How were the TEAS? Was yours on paper or computers?

What kind of questions did they ask you at the interview if you dont mind me asking.

Kelseyannemcd, I took it on the comp too. I thought it was great cause I got my score 2 hours after I finished the test. My friend had taken a paper test in Westchester and she had to wait almost a week to get her scores. 75 is still great as like you said you're above average. I didn't know the average TEAS was 70, that's a few point higher than NCC which is what I expected.

Nicki12, I can't remember all the questions, they had asked me maybe 10-15. But a few were "where do you see yourself in 2 years", "will you be working when attending", "what are your study habits", "what kind of experiences have you had with nurses in your past". I hope this helps, when is your interview?

Anyone else go for an interview and remember some of the questions?

Just interviews this morning. I think it went well. Anyone who went for an interview already, did you hear back yet if you were accepted? If so, how long did it take for them to get back to you?

Nope, I haven't heard anything and I went for it in the beginning of the month. I think they are sending out all letters around Dec. 1st. I'm hoping it's a good sign that I haven't received anything yet lol

I have my interview this Friday in the morning. The last date they offered me was Monday the 24th so I think that's the last day for interviews and they'll probably make decisions from there.. I'm assuming lol

Hey do you remember some of the questions they asked?

They were super nice. It was just like you were chatting with them, not interviewing. They asked why do I want to be a nurse, asked if I had any healthcare experience, and my greatest accomplishment in life.

I'm guessing they ask everyone different questions because I wasn't asked what was my greatest accomplishment in life.

Has anyone heard back yet?

Nope, nothing. Admissions told me letters go out around Dec 1st so hopefully this week we will all hear something. Really late considering classes start in January

Ugh it seems like its taking forever. I was just worried about registering for classes since its taking them so long.
