SUNY Farmingdale Advanced Standing Spring 2016

HI!!!

I'm sure new to the site and I just had a few questions on the SUNY Farmingdale Advanced Standing program. I have applied for the spring term and will be taking my Teas test this month.

I have a 3.2 under grad GPA, over 5,000 direct patient care hours and have been studying like crazy for the Teas so I hope to do well on that. Any guess on my chances for getting in??

Any one in the program or graduated from it want to give me some reviews on how it was, would you recommend it? How is the faculty? How are the clinicals?

The only thing that has really thrown me off with the program is that you HAVE to do it in 3 years and since I have so many prereqs, they told me I will have to be part-time some semesters, aka no financial aid .

Would it be worth it to retake some classes this year and get up my GPA and then apply to Stony Brook two year program?? or even a PA program! I would be technically have my BSN or PA masters around the same time!

I don't know which is a better program, Stony Brook or Farmingdale. Obviously SB has the bigger name, but I do not want to discount Farmingdale until I know it is or isn't a good option.

What is your guys opinion??

Should take the chance with SB and do my courses there non- matriculated? and apply there?

or go the Farmingdale 3 year program?

My total composite was 76% and it says I was ranked in the 80th percentile nationally. Im not exactly sure what the requirement is but I believe they start at the 99th percentile or work down from the most competitive scores. All I know is my fingers are crossed and Im staying hopeful :)

That's a good score. My total score is 75%. But I did so poorly on the language usage section, I only got 54%. Math i got 84, reading I got 78 and science I got 81. Hopefully they don't care a lot about the language usage section. And I have a 3.7 GPA. So I'm hoping for the best.

I have applied for Spring 2016 as well. I'm really surprised to find out that the program does not require interviews anymore. Anyone have a date that the decisions will be out ?

Hey DBella1284,

Not sure if they've given an exact date but they said they were starting to at least review our applications with TEAS scores this week. I may give them a call towards the end of next week if there aren't any updates on OASIS by then.

Just spoke to someone in admissions, she said we should hear something in about a week. Ughh the anticipation! I was accepted into adelphi yesterday but this is my top choice

I believe admissions just started looking into applications yesterday. I was accepted to Adelphi as well, I just really cant afford it. It would be a blessing to get into farmingdale. How did you score on the teas?

It's super expensive that's why farmingdale is my top choice. I believe my overall score was 83
