Hi everyone!! I recently applied for the absn program at SUNY Downstate for fall 2025. I couldn't find any threads for this application cycle, so I decided to start one. I've looked through the previous ones and was able to find some answers, but I figured we should have our own. Good luck!!

overall GPA: 3.7
science GPA: 3.6
TEAS: 94 (reading), 88 (math), 75 (science)
I also have a ton of healthcare and volunteer experience! I applied 2 weeks ago but I'm feeling discouraged I haven't heard back considering some of my friends did 😞
Seems like you would. Those are good stats
Anyone know if I'd have a chance with a good TEAS score and a 3.5 science GPA but a 2.9 overall GPA for my prior bachelors?
Also— I've heard that, in the past, some lectures for the ABSN were offered online. Is this still an option for the upcoming cohort? Additionally, is there a sample schedule or an idea of what a typical day/week in the program looks like? I'll be commuting from Long Island and I'm nervous I won't have time to study due to the lengthy commute I'll have

don't feel discouraged!! I think the process is holistic so they'll be looking at everything, not just grades but also your essay and other supplemental information. good luck : )

I believe they're fully in person now but not 100% sure. I'll also be commuting from long island! what part do you live in if you don't mind me asking?
Hey guys! This chat has been extremely helpful when I was applying. I finished all my pre reqs and completed my application Feb 2nd (I was waiting for my degree to be conferred). I got my interview call 2/26, interview 3/5 and got accepted 3/6. I was feeling nervous because my GPA wasn't that high and saw that a lot of people had really good GPAs. My science was a 3.18 and my overall was around 3.6 and got a 91 on my TEAS. But I had some medical experience and other extra curriculars as well. Hope this helps 🙂
