Hi everyone!! I recently applied for the absn program at SUNY Downstate for fall 2025. I couldn't find any threads for this application cycle, so I decided to start one. I've looked through the previous ones and was able to find some answers, but I figured we should have our own. Good luck!!

Hi,
A Facebook group has been created for all accepted students who'd like to connect with others in the upcoming cohort. It's a great way to stay informed throughout the matriculation process (including registration) and to support one another during the semesters ahead.

Feel free to join—we'd love to see you there!

Would you be able to let me in by any chance? I've requested but so far no luck. Or alternatively, if you have a link to another groupchat that I could join. Thank you!

My cumulative GPA is 3.7 and my science GPA is 3.5. GPA definitely matters, but most programs do review applicants holistically—so don't get too discouraged if your GPA isn't perfect. You do meet the minimum requirements, and that's a good thing!
What really helped my application stand out were my patient care hours (I'm currently working as an EMT) and consistent volunteering at a local animal shelter. Showing commitment through hands-on experience and community involvement will get you through the door. If you're worried about GPA, you might consider retaking science courses to show improvement and academic growth.
Most importantly, don't give up! 💪
