SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University ABSN - 2025/2026

Published

Hi everyone!! I recently applied for the absn program at SUNY Downstate for fall 2025. I couldn't find any threads for this application cycle, so I decided to start one. I've looked through the previous ones and was able to find some answers, but I figured we should have our own. Good luck!!

I submitted Jan 22, but they rejected several of my documents at first and everything was accepted by Feb 4. They called me Tuesday, Feb 11 for an interview and I took the first available time which is Feb 19. They said they would follow up with a zoom link email but I haven't received it yet. Did this happen to anyone else?

Hi. I submitted everything on Wed, Feb. 5th and also got called on 2/11 to interview on 2/19. Just got the email with the zoom link (like an hour ago) so hopefully your email came as well.

What were your stats like? I submitted Jan 28th and haven't heard anything yet.

3.67 GPA both overall in bachelor's degree and in all pre-requisites and 94.7% on the TEAS (94.9 reading, 100 math, 86.4 science)

I applied at the end of January and recently got called to schedule an interview. They said there would be 4 to 5 other applicants in the interview session which caught me off guard... did anyone else have a similar process?

I also had a group interview. We can't share anything on it but don't worry. Just be yourself. The interviewers were very nice and just wanted to get to know you more. Good luck!

Is there any rhyme or reason to the order that people get their acceptance/rejections? I submitted a month ago and it's disheartening to see people who submitted after me get their emails already.

Hi! Did anyone apply the week of the deadline? I applied on February 24th and was curious how long it took to hear back. Molloy wants an answer by the end of March and I have a feeling I'll have to put a deposit down to keep my spot even though Downstate is my #1 choice.

I randomly came across this and I'm so glad, I've been looking for more information or other people applying. Thank you for starting this! Has anyone received any admissions updates?

I applied Jan 28, and then had to update some documents and had everything "accepted" Feb 2. I think received a call for an interviewed Feb 12 for an interview on Feb 19. I received my acceptance the next morning (which seems typical from reading other peoples' experiences on here)! They gave me a week to accept and put down a $150 deposit (that would then also have $150 background check).

I asked to push the decision deadline to Mar 15 because I am waiting to hear from other schools! They allowed that.

Congrats! What were your stats? If you don't mind sharing
