Hi everyone,

I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

Heard back today with an acceptance. Two weeks post-interview ?

Does anyone know the latest we should expect to be hearing back?

in the info session I attended, they alluded to the fact that they still accept people from the waitlist up to the final day of registration/day of orientation. that makes me think we could be waiting til august ? I hope that's not the case though! good luck everyone. btw, still haven't heard anything on my end and status is still "forwarded to program for review".

Are they still sending out interview invites or are we supposed to assume that this is it? It's already been over 3-4 months and still no change to my application status.

@Stephenie Zhu oof, I hope they aren't done yet... and yeah me too. it's been awhile and I just keep hoping I'll get a call. trying not to lose hope entirely!

Yeah.. I feel like I've been waiting for so long that they probably just won't look at my application at all. I just assume it's a rejection at this point.

I wouldn't assume that just yet...I think there is still hope

 I feel you on that, I had submitted early October and just heard back last month. Give it some time, they are very slow. Best of luck

Hey all! I didn't even know there would be a forum for the suny downstate ABSN applicants, it's nice to meet you guys. I'm also waiting for any word or call, I had sent in my application in November 2020, so it's been really nervewracking...

Hey all - I'm still on "Forwarded to program for review" (or whatever the equivalent specific language is)! Has anyone received an acceptance and/or a call for an interview within the past few weeks?

Based on my stats, I've been skeptical this whole time that I'm going to gain admission, but I have a deadline from SUNY Downstate of 6.23 to complete my remaining three prerequisites, so...it'd be nice to know sooner rather than later how much I need to get a move on, in order to complete those courses, and to know what life might look like, come September...
