  1. Honestly, it's tough to say! We have absolutely no idea what the admissions team is looking for. There are people who are apparently perfectly candidates that did not get accepted. The current cohort has some really strong applicants (4.0 GPA, all A's, healthcare experience), but there are also people who have excellent grades, but no healthcare experience that were also accepted. I'm sure there are a fair amount of B's as well! If you have the time, definitely try to gain more healthcare experience, work as a MA, EMT, CNA. Get a competitive score on your TEAS if you haven't taken it already, have a solid essay. I know that Downstate reviews the applications pretty holistically, so don't be too discouraged over your pre-requisites.
  2. Yeah, I'm not sure if those 3-4 people just haven't registered yet or just have not been accepted yet! Either way, it's been a crazy application cycle ? and I hate that they're leaving people hanging. Anything could happen, so who knows ?
  3. I'm looking at our classes and it says 93/96 people registered already. Maybe they're accepting people off the waitlist, not sure ?
  4. CONGRATS EVERYONE !! ? So happy for you guys. Make sure to join us on FB!
  5. What??! They didn't even give you the option or a headsup?? ?? I would've freaked. Also don't worry! I've seen many others get accepted up to a week after their interview!
  6. I accepted my seat about a week back and my status was : "Offer accepted" up until two days ago where it changed to "Application started" I was nervous that I clicked something wrong, so I'm glad it isn't just me. Wonder what they're doing LOL
  7. Hi! I got accepted last week and my status also changed to "Application started" Maybe it's a mistake in the system
  8. I've only seen one person in this forum that received a rejection post interview ?
  9. Definitely look up some nursing school interview questions just to prepare yourself in advance! My suggestion would just use lots of examples when answering the questions and relate that to nursing! Good luck!
  10. CONGRATS!! So glad to hear that more people are seeing movements on their applications. Good luck on your interview, you got this!
  11. Definitely do some practice before your interview. They're your typical interview questions: "3 adjectives to describe yourself" "Think of a time you experienced failure and how you addressed it " The director is super nice! Sing a lot of praise about the school and the program as well! Really, just be honest and true to yourself, I'm sure your passion will shine through
  12. I think it went well I had a one on one interview but I think other people was in a group. The director of admissions was really nice!
