Hi everyone,

I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

OK I have been running a POD location so I had to postpone my test until tomorrow (super frusturating), so I was going see if it would just be better to take the online format on Friday since it says it would be ready after 2 hours of taking the exam

Hi guys! Is it okay to submit the application if the LOR requests were sent but nothing was submitted yet? I know I’m pushing it with applying literally at the end of the application deadline, but I’m not sure if I should even bother if the application won’t be “complete” in time without the recommendations

For those who already interviewed, how many days did it take for decisions to come out? Does anyone know the approx percentage for those who get accepted out of the pool of interviewees?

I found out the next day at 12:30pm. I interviewed with two other people and we all got accepted. Good luck!

Also, he said that the status should change when they are reviewing it. So I guess there is still some hope for us who got our applications in earlier and haven't heard back

Hi Liz, I wasn't able to respond to your PM, but to answer your question: I have my BS in Psychology and have about 1.5 years of medical scribe experience in a hospital. I'm honestly not sure how the Admissions office pick which applications to review first. All in all, this has been a very frustrating experience.

@No1shan just wanted to help you out here with some anecdotal advice (LOL) since I had this exact issue - I submitted my application while awaiting one of my recommendations and they said that was okay and to just submit it and get the recs in whenever possible. I'm not sure if this will affect it being kept on hold, but I would submit it either way and then make sure the recs get submitted once your application is in. Good luck!

For those who did get called, what time did they call you at? Were there ever calls in the evening?

I got my call around 4:15 pm but other people on this forum received calls around 8 pm. I think it’s people working from home who make the phone calls from their personal phones so it could come at any time of day

Hey congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far! My application status is still “File forwarded to program for review”. For everyone that has been accepted, do you know anything about a drug test? I need to figure out if we get drug tested or not so I can plan accordingly LOL

I believe there is a drug test once we begin clinicals.

Hi everyone, I know this is super last minute but I was wondering if we can take the TEAS remotely? On the website, it says take the TEAS with PSI but I think some people in the thread took it remotely so I'm a little confused. Thank you in advance!
