Hi, is anyone applied for the SUNY Downstate FNP FALL 2021 program?

I applied end of November but was missing transcript from one of the colleges I attended so it wasn’t forwarded for review until end of January. Interview wasn’t too bad, standard questions like tell me about yourself, why do you want to be NP, how many years of nursing experience do you have and what have you learned being a nurse and how will that help you transition to be an NP, why should we pick you over other candidates. I had my interview with the director and another candidate so we each got asked 5-6 questions and interview was 30 mins.

Hey!

I just completed my application for Fall 2021 today. I happened to realize that they extended their application deadline to April, and decided I'll apply. Reading this discussion, I've noticed people have been accepted for a few months now! I wonder if my application will be too "late" the interview/acceptance process, despite the deadline. Anyone else just recently applied? Should I expect to hear something back via email anytime soon, whether I am moving forward with the process of even if I am not?

Hey!

I was wondering the same thing because I finished my application a few days prior to the Jan 31st deadline and then they extended it. I don't think that its too late but it may be weeks Maybe months before they even evaluate it And get back to us. You should attend the virtual open house on the 16th of this month to ask any questions you may have.

Hi, yes the best thing to do would be to attend the virtual meeting. But before thy virtual meeting, thy best thing to do is to make sure that you have submitted everything.

I finished my application is December and my reference sent their recommendation in January. I heard from them last week requesting a transcript for classes that I took on e-permit but already present on my undergraduate transcript. As of yet, nothing.

I applied the last week of February. Currently, I am “Under program review”. Crossing my fingers and good luck to everyone!

Have you checked the status of the application on the website??

yes it still states that additional information is needed. I had emailed them after I uploaded it, they told me that documents are review and processed in the order received

Has anyone been accepted or had their interview within the last couple of weeks? I have an interview coming this week and wondering if the questions are pretty much consistent with what has been posted on here previously. Thanks

I have not had my interview yet but I do hear that thy questions are pretty standard and consistent
