Hey Everyone!

I figured I should start a new thread for the upcoming round of decisions. How are you all feeling? What are your backgrounds? Have you applied to other schools? My application is in the review progress, so my fingers are crossed and hopes are high!

Looking forward to the conversation :)

Lauren

The checklists did not update till recently for those who were accepted. Mine updated last Sunday, so can't really answer your question about the link for deposit.

@mary0726: oh you mean because you already sent in a deposit? so you can't tell if it WAS a link or not?

Well for me personally, there was nothing in my checklist besides the application fee marked as received. It just recently updated with everything (deposit fee, health forms, background check)

@mary0726: sorry for all the questions, but just to clarify, did you already submit your deposit fee?

Yes I submitted my fee and my checklist updated to show everything as received.

My checklist is updated too with all of the health information and the deposit etc but everything has a red X next to it. No link to click though. I am still waiting to hear,I hope this is the week! I am not even sure if I will accept if I get accepted. They have given me a lot of time to look at other options closer to home but more expensive so I am torn. I am thinking I am probably waitlisted at this point.

anyone else hear this month? they told me on march 21 decisions would be sent within 2 weeks. I am pretty much set on another school and sending a deposit in this week, but would like to know from suny downstate either way! also, I wouldnt stress the checklist too much as a means to figure out acceptance, that seems a bit risky! especially because these schools get computer glitches often, so I wouldn't rely on that. they need to relay to us formally!

I just spoke to admissions and they said because they were renovating their office there have been delays in sending out decisions and expect to send them out within two weeks so candidates would hear in about 3 weeks.

Personally, I do not believe that. They have been giving all kinds of time frames and information to people that have been inaccurate.

Yea they told me it's the move as well. Why would you move during this time of year?!?!? I got accepted to another school and unfortunately I'm going to have to chance losing my deposit while I wait to hear from the others.

Hi all! Just joining the conversation, but I totally agree with some of you...their admissions process has been a total mess and it's driving me crazy that no one seems to be able to get a straight answer from them! I have yet to hear anything at all and am losing hope, but then they say they're still accepting people, so who knows? I'm having trouble believing any of the time frames they give. The program starts so soon....it seems sort of disrespectful that they'd be so blase about helping us navigate this process. I don't mean to sound entitled or anything-- obviously they have a lot to do and it'd be an honor to be accepted, but the total lack of clear communication is driving me nuts! Sorry just needed to vent maybe : / Glad we're all in this together!

@Zmymy I kind of agree... I don't quite get it because I have already heard back from 3 schools that are starting in the Fall, and had later deadlines.. I am guessing since SUNY is public they receive a lot more applications? still seems off, I mean they told me that a decision had been made on my application, so why isn't an email decision sent out right away? especially since the school starts so soon!
