Hey Everyone!

I figured I should start a new thread for the upcoming round of decisions. How are you all feeling? What are your backgrounds? Have you applied to other schools? My application is in the review progress, so my fingers are crossed and hopes are high!

I spoke to someone at the office and I was told "they are moving slower than originally planned". They are trying to get more notifications out on Friday so I may hear early next week. The wait continues.......

Does anyone know if rejection/waitlists are also sent next day?

they emailed me on march 21 and said i would hear within the next 2 weeks.. so should be this week

So tired of waiting...I would just like to know already. Even a rejection would be okay at this point because then I wouldn't be waiting anymore.

How are you supposed to plan other options when this takes so long? Just out of curiosity, have any of you turned down other schools because you are still waiting to hear from downstate?

i know i hope i hear soon.. they start in less than 8 weeks!

i am waiting on other schools but they start in the fall, so more leeway for decision making

Well I just called again and the woman in admissions INSISTED that even if you give your name when inquiring it is impossible for them to give a time frame of when you might get a decision. I asked if that meant that the time frames given to people are inaccurate and she said yes.

Those of you that have called and been told "this week" or "next week" - did you call the main admissions line??

Also, she said that they can give responses - acceptance or rejection up until the day before the program. That makes no sense. I understand being pulled from the waitlist the day before but no intial response until the day before?!

That is why I have not called the school. They seen to be giving out incorrect information to everyone. You would think that initial acceptances should have all gone out by now. I believe they send out acceptances then wait the two weeks that they give you to respond then send out more acceptances. I am completely confused at this point. I know others have gotten rejections as well as been wait listed so I have no idea what is going on. I agree with you Cherryhead81, there should be an initial acceptance before May, I thought the people who got accepted right up until the start date were people who were taken off the wait list. Like you, I just want any answer.

do they give everyone just 2 weeks to respond? i would think there is a set deadline for everyone to send in a deposit, regardless of when they are told of acceptance?

Its two weeks to accept the offer. You don't need to send a deposit but need to respond yes by then.

Wow so yes it does make sense that they are possibly waiting for responses from people before sending out other decisions. 2 weeks seems like such a short time for the decision!
