SUNY Downstate Accelerated BSN Program 2014-2015

Hey Everyone!

I figured I should start a new thread for the upcoming round of decisions. How are you all feeling? What are your backgrounds? Have you applied to other schools? My application is in the review progress, so my fingers are crossed and hopes are high!

Hey, did you guys respond to the acceptance?

as soon as i got the email, i replied back to admissions and accepted the seat.

did anyone else do that? Seeing as admissions via email can be unreliable, did anyone

call instead? Or are you waiting for the acceptance package?

@alivera I have definitely considered those fields, but I'm waiting to gain more experience before I commit to a particular specialty. Right now, I'm particularly interested in trauma :)

@draf77 I emailed them my acceptance while asking if I needed to mail a more formal acceptance. They said that they noted my acceptance, but that I'll need to send in the formal acceptance that comes in the acceptance package (which I should be getting soon)

@draf77 I totally hear that! I was basically like, "Let me tell you in all of the ways that yes, yes I accept!!!" Downstate was the only school that I applied to, so I would send a carrier pigeon and hire a skywriter just to make sure that they get the message...

My status just changed to File Return to Admissions after Comm. Rev..... NO email though. Was I accepted??, wait listed???, completely rejected so they're just throwing my file away lol???? UGH the waiting is unbearable.

@brit2368 That's exactly what my application status changed to (I realized it after they sent the acceptance e-mail). Fingers crossed for you!

Brit2368... mine just changed to that too. I am so nervous, is this good news or bad? I had seen Lauren had said hers had changed to that so I am hoping it means they want us. But it can also mean we were waitlisted or even rejected... I agree the wait is unbearable!

@nicole616, brit2368, just wondering if you remember how long your status was "review completed" before it changed to "file return..."

About 2 hours. I had checked it at 1pm and it said review completed. Now I feel like it just might be a final step in the process and not an indication.

My review was completed the first week of February but I also handed in all necessary paperwork by Jan. 1st. I don't think they consider people on a first come, first serve basis as long as it was in by the deadline.

Same... File Return to Admissions after Comm. Rev. So I guess the committee looked at it again, which is both exciting and terrifying. Terrific.
