Hi everyone,
I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.

Has anyone gotten an invitation to interview yet (or just heard anything in general about when interview invitations will be sent out)? I submitted my application around two weeks ago and have not yet heard anything.
Hi,
I submitted my application 9/10 and have yet to hear about an interview. Best of luck!

The deadline for applications is November 30, 2019 and the deadline for supplemental docs (assuming that's pre-reqs you're finishing up this semester) is January 3, 2020. I don't think we will hear back about interviews until after this month.
Good luck to everyone!
I'm hoping that's not the case! From reading last year's thread it looks like the 2020 cohort started getting phone calls for interviews around mid-November. Fingers crossed that this year will be the same and Downstate will begin interviews soon.

With the new application this year, I believe our timeline is a little bit behind the previous cohorts. But who knows ?♀️ I would love to hear sooner rather than later. Where else did everyone apply? I interviewed for Stony Brook's accelerated program last week.
Hey everyone!
I submitted my app at the beginning of Nov, but intend to take the TEAs again towards the end of the month to improve my sci score. Does anybody know if the national percentile rank has any bearing on their decisions? I got below an 80 for the science section, but was in the 89th percentile with my score.
Thanks!

Hi! I know people who got into Downstate with a TEAS science score in the 70's. I was told by a past applicant that the science score isn't weighed in that heavily when considered for admissions. Meaning if you have a good overall application, you are good. If not, you can use a higher science score to your advantage.
Best of luck!

Hello!
I submitted my TEAS Scores directly from ATI and via PDF. I have not been told yet by the school that they are missing, so I assume that all is well.
I have been told by admissions staff that the school does have ways of requesting your scores from ATI, but I am not sure if they can always do that, or can only do that if you authorized ATI to provide them.
