I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.
Thanks for the reply and help. My payment definitely went through the first time as my credit card did list the transaction. I went ahead and tried a different card and this time it went smoothly, so I will probably to call them for a refund. I have a new problem now...when I submit my application, I get hit with the error: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'process_id', table '@result'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.
Googled it and this is some sort of coding error of the application on their database but since I don't see anyone else having this problem, not sure what it is now.
Hi @eluo830 I'd recommend calling Admissions. I was at an open house at Downstate last week, and they said since the application system is new this year, there are some issues, but they're happy to help with them. So I'd recommend just giving them a call and letting them know what's going on! Good luck!
I just got an email notification from admissions that my application is complete. I haven't made any changes to it since I first submitted it last month. So I guess this means that they'll begin reviewing it soon. Has anyone else gotten this notification?

I know I haven't obviously got in yet--but I am starting to worry about funding this. I have two kids and currently work full-time. I will definitely need to take out private loans. Is anyone else in this boat? What are you planning to do? - Thanks for any insight!

I am in a similar situation and see myself taking out loans too. I've been getting a lot of SallieMae email flyers lately... I'm hoping SUNY offers financial aid/scholarship opportunities that fits my needs.

I just received another email update a couple days ago saying my application was forwarded to the program. So I think you will get this one once your scores are uploaded and they are ready to review your application. Good luck!
Did you submit your TEAS scores through the ATI website? I got a notification that my application was missing my scores, so I downloaded it as a PDF and submitted it through the document uploader. I wasn't sure if it has to go directly through ATI.
hi all. on the application, does it tell you your gpa before you submit? i want to know if i should bother applying..i have strong letters, good essay and my undergrad gpa is a 2.97. in pre reqs i have a, bs, and one c.
What's the status of everyone's submissions? I have everything submitted but a few grades for pre-reqs I'll get at the end of this semester.
So far, I've received two emails from SUNY: one simply saying that they've received my application, and the second recognizing that the application is provisionally complete and ready for review by an evaluator, who will let me know if anything else is missing.
It seems like some of you all have received a third email from SUNY saying that the evaluator has passed your application onto the program, or that you need to submit other documents. Is that right? How long did you wait for this email? Thanks!

Hello!
The application does calculate your overall and pre-req GPA. The school is pretty selective, so the higher the better, but I have heard that the application and selection process is pretty holistic. Wishing you the best!
