Does anyone have experience with them as an LPN? They are hiring in my area. What can you tell me about the job? Their job description doesn't say much. The position is called a wellness nurse. What is their pay like? Do they treat their nurses well? What kind of hours? Is it like a nursing home or different?
Edit: Sunrise Senior Living

I was working for them but not for long until the company got bought out. I am a CNA but my night nurse said they pay better than other places because she drives about 1 hour to work. All employees are treated good, been working about a month and love it so far but of course every Sunrise has different management. hours are 8 hours 4 days on 2 days off, so your days off will change weekly. If you work in Skilled Nursing it is much like a nursing home except they are all private insurance and hospice, no medicare. and Assisted living is.....Assisted living. good luck!

When I was job hunting, I walked into one of their facilities and thought I made a mistake and walked into a fancy hotel. I walked in and it had high ceilings, spiral staircase, and breakfast buffet counter, fresh flowers everywhere, it looked nice! If you get the job I'd love to hear about how they treat staff... I imagine that turn over wouldn't be too high.
Sunrise was once owned by Mariott before, that is why their facilities look like hotels! it's a very nice facility because the people that live there pay lots of money (no medicare residents). Turnover is not very high until they recently changed their schedules to 4 days on 2 days off- they lost lots of employees at that time. Staff is treated very well, and best of all.... census right now is 17, and highest since I started working was 24. =D

I was actually a "mystery shopper" there once, evaluating their facilities & staff =) I had to pretend I had a grandparent I was looking around for a senior living community for. 2 out of 3 of the ones I went to were really, really nice, great staff, all of the people were happy, beautiful facilities. Definitely nicer than places I did my cna clinicals! I would think that's a great place to work for, and they care enough to hire mystery shoppers to make sure everything is as nice as they want it to be. The only one I didn't like had kitchen/cleaning staff listening to loud "r&b/dance/rap" - didn't think the seniors enjoyed that too much. That's the only problem I'd ever seen there though, it looks like a great workplace.

My grandma used to live there. She moved into a brand new Sunrise and it was very nice. They were pretty good at taking care of her and we used to visit often.

I would rate them above average
Thanks. Anyone know what the nurse/patient ratio is? Whats a typical day like? Is it like a nursing home? Or is it a little less demanding since the patients are more independent?
