Hi Dianah

Stars that would annoy me too

NJ22 hope the weather improves

Ado glad you got to see family and friends

Yesterday was nice, got out in the morning and did bird watching.  Came home and did laundry.  Then met dad for lunch for a belated birthday celebration for me.  Stopped at the yarn store to pick up a few supplies and get some advice on a pattern

Did watch The Crawling Eye, it wasn't good but not as bad as I expected

Will start a crock pot recipe before going to church.  Will exercise later too, but other than that have little to do today.  MeTV is showing Snoopy Come Home in celebration of what would have been Charles Schulz's 100th birthday

Will be a bit cooler today, in the mid 40s,  with rain expected.  Glad I got all the outdoor stuff done in the previous 3 days

Can you even believe it is already the end of November? It's been a heck of a year, and that is an understatement!

Last night I was at the end of my rope. Hubby kept asking Nannie if it was time yet for her to go to bed. She said no, every time he asked (about q 1/2 hr). When it was coming up on ten o'clock and he asked her again, she looked over at me with a smug smile, as if to say ....'I don't have to go to bed as long as YOU are still up.' Aaaaannnnd that went right up my spine; I am tired of being her puppet/maid. So I just picked up my computer, magazine, and sippy- cup and stood up. She said, "Where are you going?" I said, "Well, you may not be tired enough to go to bed, but *I* am." I started up the stairs, leaving hubby to deal with it. I had already changed her and put her pj bottoms on, so he didn't have to do any toileting. It kind of threw them for a loop. Too bad! They were both verbally fussing with one another as he 'helped' her, but I paid no attention whatsoever, and tucked myself into bed, reading a book.

Anyway, this morning I did get her up and get her dressed; hubby brought  her pills and yogurt and juice down to her and that was that.

I felt pretty crabby this morning, with nothing specific making me feel that way, except maybe that I am sick and tired of this. Hubby keeps saying we'll figure out something to do, like put her in a home, or hire help. But, as usual, when I mentioned the cost he says, again, "WE will figure it out." Oh sure 'we' will. Yuh. Right, Uh-huh, Okay. (As the old joke used to go: The Lone Ranger and Tonto were surrounded by Indians, and the Lone Ranger said, "What are we going to do, Tonto?" and Tonto replied, "What do you mean *WE*, white man?")

My sister sent me a link about Medicare and costs of nsg home care, and another link with info about all the options from different senior-care-centered groups, and like that and like that. Good info to have, and I did scan through it and kept it, but I am really, really, REALLY having a hard time with my attitude about being left to wade through all that and come up with the solution, when, as I have been saying all along, it is not MY business to take care of, I already take way too much care of everything for her, and SHE IS NOT MY MOTHER!"

Okay, gripe, gripe, grouse.

Time to turn on the TV to NBC and watch an Ice-Skating Competition in FINLAND. My sister said they also show parts of Finland's countryside.

Home again. ?

Woke up a little after 7 this morning to the ringing of the phone in our motel room. I answered and a voice said "Is 'Gma' supposed to be in your room?"

She had gone out into the hallway. Hubs went to retrieve her. He said he had been up about an hour earlier and she was sleeping soundly. If I had realized he hadn't used the inside lock on the door I would have done it. I don't think Gma would have figured that one out.

The washer and dryer are calling my name so I guess I'd better go deal with them.

Hello all!

Dh is down with a cold.  I headed to the store to get makings for some yellow split-pea soup w/vegetarian "sausage" in it, and also picked up some Covid 19 tests.  When I got home, he was resting, and I got the soup going then while it was cooking, ate some leftovers for lunch.  When he woke up we tested him; he is NEGATIVE (so far).  We attended a short Zoom phone call with youngest ds and his wife, they had a good family Thanksgiving.  They plan on coming out to our area in March, that will be nice.

Not much else going on.  The soup turned out good, and it will feed us for a few meals.

No Stars, I hear ya, it's not your mother.  At this point, your dh doesn't sound like he is able to deal with something like that kind of decision-making.  So, as you say, continue as is.   Good you set your boundaries.  The situation is not pleasant for any involved.  Hope today wound down to a halfway-pleasant atmosphere.  ((((((((((((((((((((((((( Stars ))))))))))))))))))))))

Whoa, Ado, good Gma didn't get herself lost!  And yes, laundry is everlasting!

Joe, what are you making in the crock pot?  Hope your day was good.

Have a good evening!

Hi all. I finally got out and got some Christmas lights strung, and dh set up our new inflatable, 12 foot Santa. I think he is actually more like 18 ft, but that is what the box says. Anyway, it makes me chuckle, and I hope it brings a smile to passers-by. While we were outside, I heard this weird screech overhead and looked up to see a bald eagle just barely higher than the house, with a squirrel in his talons! And trailing along behind was another! The second one sort of hung around, squeaking/screeching, and I put the dog in the house. I don't think an eagle would attack him, but I didn't want to take any chances. I don't think I've ever seen one fly that low.

We also bought an artificial tree on good sale last night. We stopped and had dinner at Wendy's. I have a fondness for their baked potatoes. Simple, I know, but I like them.

Good for you, NoStars, for establishing boundaries. I don't think I would be able to keep my mouth shut. I see that your hubby just can't stop giving Nannie options. "X o'clock is bedtime", not "are you ready for bed?"

Oh, dear, Annie. That must have been a shock. I'm glad she didn't get lost.

Dianah, I hope your dh recovers quickly. My dd said she didn't feel great the day after Thanksgiving--mainly a head ache. And so far, we are fine. Except for the profuse runny noses when outside for any amount of time.

Joe, I saw some various comics on line offering tributes to Charles Shultz. We visited his museum in Santa Rosa, CA one year. It is quite charming. It even has the "kite-eating tree".
