Nursing Students School Programs

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

Hello guys,

I'm applying for summer of 2018, but also applied for spring of 2018. I can't remember my overall gpa, but I knew I wouldn't get in with my stats. My science was a 3.3 and my overall was a 3.58. At the time I was finishing my prereqs and took micro and 4 others. I got all As and my new stats are 3.61 overall 3.5 science and 3.7 prereq gpa. I am going to retake a&p 1, which is a C but is my only science class that isn't an A and is my only C. The semester I took it I had other issues which is what caused me to not get the grade I wanted. Worse case is I'll have to apply for Spring of 2019 with my new grades. My HESI score was an 86 overall but I am retaking it in February before I apply for fall of 2018. I'm also applying to TWU and UTMB.

My friend did get accepted for spring of 2018 and told me they said their average for spring was a 91 on the HESI and a 3.7 gpa overall. Wishing luck for everybody! I know I'm gonna need it!!

Our stats are very similar! Don't fret on if its good enough, they accept a wide range of people and consider several things.

Hey!

I took my HESI Wednesday under the UTHSC department code. Does anyone remember how long it took for the HESI to be taken off your to-do list?

It took 9 days for me!

I just finished applying for summer 2018. Really hope I get in.

HESI Cumulative- 96.4%

Math - 100%

Vocab - 100%

Anatomy - 92%

Reading - 94%

Grammar - 96%

Cumulative GPA: 3.59

Science GPA: 4.0 (had to retake CHem because my original one did not have a lab)

I am so nervous! Today was the deadline for the summer 2018!

Is anyone also applying for the Fall 2018 cohort? I am thinking about it since we wont know if we made it into the summer cohort until after the fall deadline has passed.

I'm applying for fall 2018 in addition to summer 2018! The other programs I've applied to all start in the fall, so it doesn't hurt. UTH is my first choice so it's with the additional application fee IMO!

I applied for UT Houston yesterday, this is my #1 choice I love that it starts in the summer and that it is a face-paced program.

My stats are:

Overall GPA: 3.7

Pre-req GPA: 3.78

Science GPA: 3.82

Hesi score overall: 87%, I got a 84% in the A&P section(not my best)

I've heard they make first cuts based off the hesi score so that really scares me since it is not as competitive as all these 90+. But I am happy with my GPA's, hope it is not as competitive in the summer!

Theres a good chance we will know whether we've been accepted/waitlisted/denied by the fall deadline.Good luck i am so nervous as well!

Hello!! I do need clarification on the scholarships that they offer. Are we suppose to apply for the scholarship now, before knowing if we got accepted, or until after?? Thank you guys and best of luck to everyone!!
