Summer 2018- UT Health Science center pacesetter BSN program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

Mine also says 3/15. I have history in progress that will be done by March as well.

Is anyone else not able to login to their UTHealth account ?[/quote

Hey! No I haven't had trouble signing in. I used this website https://apply.uth.tmc.edu

Hope this helps!

Idk what was going on but I called IT and I can access my account now!

My transcripts are still posted on my to-do list but I'm still taking classes this semester. They have always said due 3/15 and I was told it's the final transcript due with all your finished classes but we won't be done with the spring semsester by then so idk.

Hey everyone!

I may have a silly question, but I figured I'd ask since I have not been able to find an answer anywhere else.

When taking my HESI I was unaware that the reading comprehension section was broken down into 4 catagories.

I scored a 92 overall in Reading, but when broken down this is what my score report looks like:

Reading Comprehension: 92%

-Conclusions: 67%

-Meaning-Word Use: 92%

-Implications: 92%

-Understanding: 100%

Grammar: 86%

Vocabulary: 94%

A&P: 96%

Math: 94%

Cumulative: 92.4%

I am worried that the 67% in the conclusions section could hurt my chances of being considered for Summer 2018. Does anyone know if these subcategories for the reading section are even reported to the school? I am hoping only the overall scores of each section are taken into account. I would hate to retake the HESI because of a few questions.

I would think it shouldn't be a problem but I'm not sure.

That's a good question í ¾í´” My lowest is a 74 on implications so technically if they looked at the subcategories than I wouldn't qualify. If I get a hold of admissions and they can answer for me than I'll let you know

I doubt they look at the subcategories of each section, especially reading. I haven't heard anyone say they look at those so you should be good.

Does anyone know how many students they accept each term? I read they accept 120 each semester but idk if that includes the summer term or just fall/spring. Please let me know

120 per semester and about 600 apply during summer term

I just spoke to admissions and they do not look at the subcategories so no worries!

Whew! Thank you! That is such a relief. Glad you were able to get ahold of someone. I haven't had the best luck.

Does anyone have any knowledge if we will have enough time between a (hopefully not) denial for Summer and application deadline for Fall if we want to reapply? Are some of you reapplying before results anyways? Mar 15 will be cutting it close based on the Spring 2018 app, but maybe Summer decisions come a little quicker.

Hello,

I also applied for Summer 2018. I am beyond nervous to find out what the results are. My HESI overall score was a 84.40. My overall GPA is a 3.4 and my overall science GPA is 3.8.
