Nursing Students School Programs

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

When do yall think we will hear anything? I have read that there are generally less applicants for the summer so hopefully that means less competitive.

I'm guessing they might be letting us know by the end of February.

Yes you can submit your application before taking HESI.

For spring it took them 6 weeks after deadline to send out the first wave of acceptances. So who knows....

The previous years that are on this board is the end of Feb. I wouldn't expect this year to be any different.

Ahhh, the end of Feb is going to be here before you know it! I likely won't here from the other programs until April.

Wonderful to know that! Thanks for the insight.

I'm ready to find out already I hope this month goes by fast! Are any of y'all going to the info session this Friday ? I'm hoping they mention how many applicants there are this summer term and give a better estimate on the acceptance date and what not .

Where did you find the info on the session?

I found it and registered

Im going to the info session.

Hi everyone! I'm currently an applicant as well, but torn between some schools. I recently heard back from Baylor, and would love to attend due to their NCLEX pass rates, but in no way can I afford their tuition. I recently heard back from UTHSCSA (definitely leaning towards this program more due to tuition) and saw they recently had a huge jump in their NCLEX rates from 89% in 2016 to 98% in 2017 and I know UT Houston has a steady NCLEX pass rate around 95%. I've heard UTHSCSA has started implementing ATI testing in their courses like other programs to help students prepare for the NCLEX, but I'm wondering if anyone has heard pros and cons in the programs between UTHSCSA and UT Houston recently? I've tried finding a forum between these two, but all I could find were UTMB vs. UT Houston lol
