Nursing Students School Programs

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing myself to apply for Summer 2018 pacesetter BSN program. We can use this forum for Summer 2018 applicants. I am in the process of taking Hesi exam. I have completed all my prerequisite courses needed for the program.

Little bit about me:

BS in Microbiology in 2005 -GPA (3.05)

MPH degree in Epidemiology in 2012-GPA (3.85)

Associate degree of Science in 2017-GPA (4.0)

Hesi test-will be taking it in August

Working full time with City Health department as an epidemiologist specialist since last five years. I am also a mom of two boys.

Got accepted to MUSC college of nursing program but declined it. Also got accepted to Johns Hopkins Entry into Masters of nursing program for Fall 2017 but had to deffer it to Fall 2018 due to financial circumstances.

Trying to apply for the in-state school due to affordable tuition as well as easy commute.

I really hope i can get into UT Health Science center pacesetter program as it's my first option as it's closest to me as well as it's affordable and one of the best programs in Texas.

Hey there everybody. I applied for the summer start as well. My STATS are: Hesi : 84% overall, Overall GPA 3.4, Science GPA 3.2. I am also an LVN. I am currently in UTA's pre-BSN program and those are my GPAs there. I only have History II left and I'm taking it this semester, along with UTAs other pre-req requirements(Path and Pharm). I also applied to UTA's AO BSN fall start. I have read so many forums here and I would not stress on GPAs and such. It seems they accept all ranges above a 3.0. I really think they consider more factors than we are aware of. It does appear that summer start is less competitive though. Leaving it in God's hands. Good luck to all!

Hi again! So I have another question...On my "to-do list" there are two transcripts tasks, but I only have one transcript that I need to send. Does anyone know why it has it as doubled? Also, I already sent my transcript it, but like someone as pointed out before, the transcript will remain on my to-do list even past the application deadline since I'm still taking some prerequisites this semester right?

Hehe, sorry if my questions are repetitive. I'm just an anxious and nervous-wreck!

Hey Theaallison Im not sure why you have two transcript tasks ,i would try to call admissions if it doesn't straighten out in the next few days. I have transcript on my to-do list as well and I just spoke with admissions earlier and confirmed that it will stay on your to-do list if you are still fulfilling prerequisites for the program! I think we're all nervous as well and ready to find out!!

Yes. The trancript will remain in your to do list past the deadline because you're taking courses to finish your pre-req this semester. Just make sure to submit all transcripts from all the schools you've ever attended before the deadline. And, not sure what you meant by two transcript tasks.

Thank you emk27 & RNtoDOC for letting me know!

On my to-do list, I have 2 items that need to be done, and both are "Official Transcript." I don't know why it is repeated, but I have sent my official transcript from the school I'm currently attending and there's only one! I sent another this morning just to be sure...

Hi, I am also applying to the summer program. My score aren't very competitive, I'm really nervous that I might not get in!

Cumulative GPA: 3.4

Science GPA: 3.5

Pre-req GPA: 3.4

HESI score: 84.8%

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone! Wish yall the best!

What did you get on each of the subject on the hesi, if you dont mind sharing?

Thank you emk27 & RNtoDOC for letting me know!

I would do what emk27 said for a peace of mind. Just go in there (2nd floor) and confirm with them that they received your transcripts. They will tell you if they did and clarify why it's showing as x2 on your to do list. Good luck! :)

I've seen HESI scores of 83 get into the program, as long as you scored 75% + on each section then give it a go. Just my two cents :).

Do you think I have a chance on getting in with GPA: 3.4 Science: 3.5 and Hesi: 84.8?

Yes. You do have a chance. Your Pre req GPA is close to the class average of 3.5. As for the HESI, a lot of schools don't really look at the average score, they look at how you scored in each section. UTHSC may have the same methodology? Not sure.

Thanks for replying, this is my hesi section scores:

Hesi Overall: 84.8

Reading: 80

Grammer:84

Math: 100

Anatomy: 80

Vocab: 82

I know its not competitve, my anatomy is lower then what I wanted! They are mostly in the B range... what do you think

Hey!

I took my HESI Wednesday under the UTHSC department code. Does anyone remember how long it took for the HESI to be taken off your to-do list?
