Summer Entry 2012 Accelerated BSN Johns Hopkins

Published

Okay I have searched far and wide to find a topic relating to this but have only found older ones... I mean come on guys the world isn't really going to end December 2012. :yeah: So here's to the 2012 application cycle!

I have a ton of questions for those who are applying and those who have applied and those who are in the program. Any and all input will be much appreciated. Also just so you know, I will be attending the October 1st open house.

If I were to describe myself, I would say grade-wise I am not the strongest candidate for JHU's nursing program as it is considered top in the nation. HOWEVER I have great experience and recommendations to cancel that out. I am also trying really really hard to make those essays seem great but only 300 words?

So to anyone reading this post, what do you think I can do to make myself a stronger applicant?

Relating to specifically JHU, I have heard a million different things about their program. From "it really sucks and is not worth it" to "best program EVER". JHU is supposed to be a school that is the leader in research and also has a global perspective. Can anyone else tell me what is so special about JHU's nursing program? What is your personal experience with it?

As far as location and campus, I think it doesn't matter as long as the educational program is incredible.

p.s. You are awesome for reading my novel. There have been many a times where I skipped over long posts. :coollook:

Almost had a heart attack - opened my email to a subject note of Johns Hopkins School of Nursing Admission... and freaked out only to find it was another email about the online chats. Wow, anxiety is taking over!

It is weird thinking we could hear back at any time now. I can't believe it is already the 7th. I am almost done with finals and very excited about getting into the Christmas spirit!

If only Santa would deliver an early present of an admission acceptance and a bag full of cash to pay for it! Wooo. Anyone else have that on their list? :p

Hahaha I had the same reaction!! A bag full of cash indeed...

I'm definitely hitting up that chat tomorrow...even if just to ask how many applicant there were this year.

I really hope they call. Opening up the mail box and the envelope to see if it's a acceptance or rejection is just too much for me. LOL.

I think it's good and healthy that finals are keeping me very busy right now. I really really hope and pray all of us will get in! :) And that big bag of cash---oh yes, I will def. need that too.

MarwaT~ I will be at the chat too but only for the last 30 minutes because I have a final for most of the time. Sooo...do you think you can update us on any juicy information? lol!

Just did my interview over the phone. Yep, same questions although some were worded a bit differently and so I wasn't sure if I was answering the question or not. It was comfortable but later I thought I should have spoke about this or that, etc. Shoulda, coulda, woulda! Trying not to go there too much. I got a lot of my questions answered as well.

Now just the waiting. I am in regular decision but it sounds like my interview was done on the earlier end so I hope to hear by early to mid January. I think I will also do the chat tomorrow or part of it but in the financial aid room.

Yes piles of money for Christmas is on my list as well!

I applied for Adult Nurse Practitioner. What about you?

jiwonkim...as always!

I was really nervous but I realized its not time yet to get really nervous. I think I'm going to wait until the 15th to really start fretting. Last year people found out as late as the 23rd of December. I'm also hoping that no news is good news right now!

Wow esusan, best of luck to you! I hope your decision comes soon as well!

Right now, I am more nervous and anxiety than excitment as the time approaching for ED. I should be studying for my final tomorrow rather than reading posts online now. I just could not help checking here daily and hope to see more updates from you guys.

Like cnd29, I was shocked when I saw an email this morning from JHSON Admission. I was doubt for seconds before I decided to open the letter. Then i was like okay, it is just the email about online chat. My heart stopped for couple seconds!

Let's hope for the best for everyone. If I get accepted, it will be the best Christmas gift for me in years!

I applied for Adult Nurse Practitioner. What about you?

I'm applying for FNP.

As we get closer and hear more about interviews and decisions coming out, the anxiety is definitely up there. Lots of cash would be perfect to pay for this program haha. If anyone wins the lottery...adopt me please ;)

I'm crossing my fingers for all of you! I am still gathering stuff for application. My micro class has come to an end, other than the final. I loved that class. I only have 2 more classes to take, ap1&2.

I everyone,

I just wanted to say good luck to you all. I was wondering what other colleges everyone applied to. I have applied to Columbia, BC, USM, and Marquette. Hopkins is my first choice, then Columbia. I wonder when they are going to start mailling/calling or decisions. Good luck to everyone and please keep me updated as you find out your decision. :monkeydance:

Maybe they'll call today?!

I applied early decision - all-eggs-in-one-basket kind of gal.
