Okay I have searched far and wide to find a topic relating to this but have only found older ones... I mean come on guys the world isn't really going to end December 2012. So here's to the 2012 application cycle!
I have a ton of questions for those who are applying and those who have applied and those who are in the program. Any and all input will be much appreciated. Also just so you know, I will be attending the October 1st open house.
If I were to describe myself, I would say grade-wise I am not the strongest candidate for JHU's nursing program as it is considered top in the nation. HOWEVER I have great experience and recommendations to cancel that out. I am also trying really really hard to make those essays seem great but only 300 words?
So to anyone reading this post, what do you think I can do to make myself a stronger applicant?
Relating to specifically JHU, I have heard a million different things about their program. From "it really sucks and is not worth it" to "best program EVER". JHU is supposed to be a school that is the leader in research and also has a global perspective. Can anyone else tell me what is so special about JHU's nursing program? What is your personal experience with it?
As far as location and campus, I think it doesn't matter as long as the educational program is incredible.
p.s. You are awesome for reading my novel. There have been many a times where I skipped over long posts.
Thanks everyone! I am from Florida (Tallahassee now for Undergrad at Florida State University) and originally from Sarasota, FL. I graduate with my bachelors from FSU on Friday. The phone call was from Denelle, who I also interviewed with. She was really nice, just congratulated me and told me that I was accepted to both the ABSN and MSN programs. She said to expect a packet of info/paperwork in the mail.
Hey aedeunger - I think we may have met at JHU for the tour on the 2nd. I'm Caitlin, the one interested in midwifery. SUPER CONGRATS on your acceptance! I bet that phone call must have been great. Yay!!!
Still very much crossing my fingers and hoping that I may get a call tonight - what time did they call you? Seems kinda late, I was expecting them to only call during work office hours.

I was expecting this as well!
Any who, I'm really happy to hear about your acceptance. It's good to know SOMETHING is going on. Oooo, from FL to Baltimore...that is super interesting! Get used to the snow
Hey Catilin- Yes, I did meet you at the open house/interview! Thank you for the congratulations! I am sure that yours is on the way soon :) I got the phone call around 4:30 this evening. I would assume that they will continue to call people tomorrow. But, I am sure it varies depending on the masters committee that you are applying too as well. Good luck!!!
MarwaT- Thank you so much! And yes, Fl to Baltimore will be a huge change :) My fiance is from Michigan, so at least he is used to it.
I was going to ask how your interview went, but clearly it went very well! :) That is great that you know you are in for the MSN too. How long do you have to send in the deposit?
I am feeling like tomorrow is going to be a good day - hopefully a lot of people on this forum will be getting calls!
Hi everyone! I got a phone call this evening saying that I was accepted to the ABSN/MSN in pediatrics track! I can't wait to meet some of my fellow classmates :)Good luck to everyone that is waiting to find out!!! I know it is extremely nerve-wrecking!
Congratulations!!
I am busy putting my application together for the January 15th regular decision due date. Lots to do before now and then.

I no longer saw the due date to apply on the website anymore. Maybe they change it. Others can confirm what I saw or just me daydreaming?
But good luck!!
Sooo...nothing in the mail yet for me. Whew.Shopping is definitely on my mind, much more than my final exam on tuesday -_- but much less than those phone calls from JHU!
Anyway, what does everyone do for a living right now? lol. I am a part time student and I teach piano privately. Very excited about the holiday recital coming up :)
MarwaT and cnd29~ I definitely have all my eggs in one basket too. I did that for my undergraduate and got accepted with great scholarship! Hopefully, this tactic works again for all of us!
Also I remembered this because I have to be at Sephora tomorrow at 7 a.m.! I work part time at Sephora and am currently volunteering as co-director with an organization called Activists for Women's Health.
So when I'm not writing about women's health and freaking out about nursing school, I apply makeup to those who visit Sephora!
I do love the sound of the piano. How was the recital?
