Okay I have searched far and wide to find a topic relating to this but have only found older ones... I mean come on guys the world isn't really going to end December 2012. So here's to the 2012 application cycle!
I have a ton of questions for those who are applying and those who have applied and those who are in the program. Any and all input will be much appreciated. Also just so you know, I will be attending the October 1st open house.
If I were to describe myself, I would say grade-wise I am not the strongest candidate for JHU's nursing program as it is considered top in the nation. HOWEVER I have great experience and recommendations to cancel that out. I am also trying really really hard to make those essays seem great but only 300 words?
So to anyone reading this post, what do you think I can do to make myself a stronger applicant?
Relating to specifically JHU, I have heard a million different things about their program. From "it really sucks and is not worth it" to "best program EVER". JHU is supposed to be a school that is the leader in research and also has a global perspective. Can anyone else tell me what is so special about JHU's nursing program? What is your personal experience with it?
As far as location and campus, I think it doesn't matter as long as the educational program is incredible.
p.s. You are awesome for reading my novel. There have been many a times where I skipped over long posts.
Good luck cnd29. What dedicatedone said is totally right. Just make sure you look polished. Do not overdo any perfume and if you wear makeup, very light application would be good. Pulling hair away from the face would be a good idea as well. Conservative colors...that's all I could think of.
Finally, work that confidence!
I just created my account and wanted to get in on this discussion board. I have been patiently carrying on with life and not getting too nervous or thinking much about admissions decisions until now! With only a few weeks left until early decisions will be made I am suddenly very, very anxious! I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer (Philippines, wootwoot!) who applied for early decision BSN/MSN Adult Nurse Practitioner focus. I felt pretty good about everything except the phone interview, which was a bit awkward. Everyone hang in there; we're in this together, right? I'm really looking forward to meeting other motivated students, especially other RPCVs! Good luck everyone!
Hello everyone. I have applied to BS/MS family. I was wondering if anyone knew how we are finding out about our admission decision. I applied for early admission so I know we will find out by the 15th but I wonder if we are going to find out through mail, email or by phone. Good luck to you all and your help is really appreciated.

From last year posts, they would call applicants who were offered admission. They were running late last year to notify early admission applicants which some people were notified after Dec 15th.

Indeed, that's how I'm feeling. In the meantime trying to get a job with clinical experience is not easy. I'm trying to prepare for future applications lest I not make it in.
Although all my hopes are pinned on JHU so far. :/
