Summer Classes

Published

For all of you that took classes this summer, here's where you can post how you did and even brag a little if you felt really good about the semester. For me, I took anatomy and physiology 1 and microbiology this semester. It honestly wasn't nearly as bad as a lot of people said it would be. It could be because I didn't have to work while taking these classes though. I also had a couple of great instructors, and I'm excited that my a&p 1 professor will also be teaching a&p 2 in the fall. As far as my grades this semester, 2 A's so far but I still have a coulple of more things for each class and will finish next week.

I ended up with 2 As in my classes. Didn't think I'd get a A in history. 🙃 I'm glad this semester is over.

I'm going to enjoy these 2 weeks I have before the new semester starts. I'm registered for AP 1, British Lit, sociology, and phys ed. I know I'm going to kill phys Ed for sure. Ah ah

Congrats everyone on doing well. Keep it up.😀

The summer classes were so brutal but it was like ripping off a band aid. My term was 8 weeks instead of 15 (I think?). The hilarious thing is that I didn't even REALIZE it until I started the classes and looked at the syllabus (all my classes are online BTW). I was like wait, this is condensed? LOL. I've been out of school a few years so I guess I didn't even think about the fact that summers could be shorter ;P.

When you are go go go and just trying to get it done you over look these small but important details. I don't regret my choice, because if I didn't take these classes over the summer I'd have to wait almost another year to apply to all my programs which is NOT worth it to me.

I didn't have much of a life at all for 8 weeks, and I'll admit I did get a little lazy as a student, but I got it done and that's what counts. I cannot WAIT for a normal fall semester. I'm enjoying a few weeks off from the grind now. I should be studying for the TEAS, but meh. I've earned my lazy few weeks!

I took Chemistry, theater (humanities), and sociology. I'm already done with theater and sociology and got an A in both. Chemistry, though, almost killed me this summer. It's the hardest class I've taken so far. I'm holding onto an A right now and my final is tomorrow so rattle some chicken bones for me lol. I'll be really glad when it's over.

I am a little more than halfway through organic chemistry, and while I feel like I'm running a race, it's going pretty well. Thank God this isn't a class the nursing program looks at, so passing will be sufficient. So far I have an 87% in the class. I start working next week and the first week is 40 hours. The last two weeks of the class I will be working only part time, so I should have no trouble passing :)

I took math for allied health and lifespan human development. I got an A in both classes

Took microbiology for the summer. It wasn't very hard at all...but I really hated looking at bacteria in the microscope because it didn't interest me at all. I received an A+.

I enjoyed the summer courses, I was able to get some 2 classes out of the way fairly easy. I took PSYC 2301 and made an A, the class was very easy. I am currently finishing up Dance Appreciation, the class is easy but the teacher grades very hard. I'm making an A right now with 2 more assignments and one test due, but she is making things too complicated if you ask me.....and yes I would do it again.

I am ready for fall, I am taking 3 classes, which is a stretch for me. The most I've taken is 2, since I work full time.

They offered 2 of our fall nursing classes as 5 week versions, so I took them both to make fall easier (I work full time). Nursing dosage calculations wasn't bad at all (but I have experience from being a vet tech), but medical terminology was surprisingly trickier. A and P II was brutal, because I had to adjust to the tests not being lecture based, and a very heavy homework load. They seemed very random, and had I not spent a lot of time studying the text I would have been doomed. I managed an A in all, but it was certainly my toughest semester to date, and if I could do it again I never wouldve taken A +P II as a condensed course.

Specializes in Critical Care, Trauma.

I have two weeks left of the summer term (5 July to 25 August) and I'm taking Statistics and Introduction to Public Speaking. I currently have a 94% in each of those classes and am working hard to keep it there or bring it up! In the fall, I am registered to take A&P part I and micro. My friends thought I was crazy for taking summer classes, but I should be all done with my prerequisites this winter! So excited!

I wanted to let everyone know (because I know you were on the edge of your seats :roflmao: ) that I ended up with an A in chemistry by .3 of a point! I worked my ass off for that A so I'm pretty proud. A&P I starts on the 22nd and I can't wait!
