Nurse Nini ~~ definately we can keep intouch...ill need help/support through it all im sure!

Classes started Monday. Advanced concepts on Mon/Wed,Psych on Tue/Thur. My Advance Concept teacher rocks. We had a med test scheduled for next Tuesday with mandatory 100 to pass. Yesterday she said we were taking a practice test just so we would know what to expect, got 2 tries for 100. Well, after we all took the practice test and passed, she told us that it was the real test, she had wanted to reduce our stress level, what a woman!!!!!

I am taking Stats and Nutrition in Summer I and History in Summer II.

Good Luck to everyone ;)

My summer classes start Wednesday, 28th. I will be taking Introductory to Chemistry, Intermediate Algebra the 1st session and English 101 and College Algebra the 2nd session. I am so nervous because I haven't been in school for so many years.

Specializes in Telemetry/Med Surg.

With me, I passed the HESI entrance exam and then had to take a math placement exam at a local community college in preparation for the Drug & Dosage Calculations course at the nursing school. I didn't pass the math...but didn't totally bottom out on it either but I have to take a math course starting in July for 6 weeks to bring me up to speed for the Drug & Dosage class. I was pretty bummed out about this but it will only help with the Drug course and not leave me dazed and confused (I hope). Nursing classes start the end of August. I am sooooo scared and excited at the same time. I'm an older student (much older :p and I hope I can study well and effectively. It's been quite a while!!! Anyone else as scared as me???

1st 6 weeks Health Assessment MW noon-5

2nd 6 weeks Pathophys 1 and Foundations w/clinical placement

Looking forward to fall. It is hard to sit in a class for more than 2 hours without falling asleep :)

WOW! What an awesome teacher-I love to hear of creative stuff like that-shows tehre are still teachers out there that really care about students and want them to pass! Amy

Today was the last day of my Multi-Cultural Studies class. It was a very informative class and very short, one week! Loved that part!

I start my Pathophysiology class in two weeks, so I'll be brushing up on my earlier science classes and doing some much anticipated swimming!!!!!!!!!

I am taking Microbiology this summer on Monday and Wednesday nights, 5:30-10:00pm. It will be tough because I have to leave work at no later than 3:45 to make it to class in time. It is about 90 miles from where I live.

I just finished taking A & P I and II this last school year and thought that they were hard. I am finding out that being an older student with work and a family I have a hard time concentrating and retaining information.

Good Luck everyone in the summer semester

Specializes in Med/Surg and ER.

njstudentnurse best of luck to you, I can relate to the being out of school awhile thing...I had History with 3 of the kids that graduated with my son last year. I burned the midnight oil and pulled an A, but you know, the grade doesn't matter to anyone else. I had Intermediate Alg. English Comp. II and Health Assessment also. I'm starting College Alg. Tues. the 27th. and Computer Info Systems. I'm dreading the Alg. but this too shall pass. Good luck! :)

Algebra is not hard! Know the formulas, order of operations, ect., and you can answer any question that is presented to you. The same holds true with chemistry. Don't try to remember minute details, know your formulas, dimensional analysis and rules and you will be fine.

My phil throughout school it that "If I can sit through each lecture, I should get a C, If I actually do the assigned reading B, If I can do the assignments, practice questions, attend review sessions and grow just one more gray hair..... I damn better get an A!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I am taking Mental health nursing this summer and just finished the acutal class (taking my final exam on Tuesday the 27th.) The clinical starts on June 9th for 5 days. Good luck to all!
