Hello!

I am currently attending Utica College in NY online RN-BSN program and to say it's a nightmare is putting it mildly!!! I have applied to Arizona State University and had applied to Chamberlain (which seems a bit pricey) but wanted to ask any suggestions for an accelerated RN-BSN program??? I want to get this done as quick and as painless as possible!!

Thanks!! :)

Just out of curiosity, why is this current program you're in a "nightmare"?

The elective have been great! The nursing courses....there's really no "teacher". They want to post material then walk away....they act annoyed if you ask for help...god forbid if you disagree with something, and in our statistics class (which was required) our "teacher" was absent for a whole week then stated "oh sorry, I was on vacation and had internet issues" We were all very frantic in trying to get through the content with no help!

I did UOP for my BSN, expensive, group work was a nightmare but had great tech support and teachers were all very good.

Currently in Walden for my MSN and a little less expensive, great library support, profs have all been good, great discussions,

Hmmmm...ok. Have you ever heard of Excelsior? I am only doing this to get it done and move into federal position, which I may already have landed with the Army.....I have concluded this in no way helps clinically but rather a hoop I need to jump through! :(

I would check out Fort Hays State University or Western Governors University.

Hello OP,

It doesn't seem that you really are particular about what school you attend. I am not sure if your postition requires a degree program with CCNE or NLNAC accreditation as do some Veterans Administration Facilities that I have seen. I am currently attending Liberty University Online www.luonline.com out of Lynchburg, VA. They offer an RN-BSN course completely online that has really outstanding student faculty interaction. Communication is key at this school. It is a Christian University and requires a couple core classes after you transfer you other courses in. I will have my BSN finished in 3 terms, hopefullynext summer. They offer the 8 week courses, so you are busy, but it is possible to get in their and knock it out. It is one of the top online schools in the nation with a large online community, and of course the brick campus in Lynchburg. The RN program is CCNE accreditted. I am not sure if you are a veteran or if your spouse may be, if so they have discounted rates for all veterans, active duty, spouses, as well as for all first responders. I have never paid for a book there as a veteran, as they offer a $400 book voucher each term. They go above and beyond to guide you through everything from registration to completing your course work. Well good luck on your journey, and I hope you enjoy your new federal job.

check out University of Ohio on this site. Very cost effective, ccne accredited

I'm at ASU, not cheap but less than alot of other schools and now 100% online classes 1 every 7 weeks. Also look at University of Texas-Arlington.

DeserRN2,

Is that American Sentinel University (ASU)? I am in the program, and I think it is a pretty good school. I have 3 more classes to finish and I will have my BSN. It is CCNE accredited. My husband was in the military a long time ago, so I was able to get the military discount. I have found ASU to be one of the cheaper schools to attend for the RN-BSN program. It is out of Aurora, Colorado.
