Suggestions for RN to BSN online programs?

Hello!

I was wondering if you could please tell me about your RN to BSN online programs? I'm looking for one without clinicals.

1.) Did they accept most of your credits?

2.) How often do you have new classes - by semester or every 8-10-12 weeks?

3.) Difficulty - average time spent doing classwork?

4.) Cost per credit/semester?

Thank you! I've started a program with CUNY but it's taking me forever! Not to mention I'll have to do two clinical rotations when my co-workers are completing their RN to BSN in half the time without clinicals for the same price! I'm just wondering what's out there. I've been told about Aspen and Governors Western (which seems a little too good to be true..)

I completed my online BSN via Western Governors. It took me 10 months, 34 credits, no clinical rotations, and approximately $5,800 in tuition and fees to complete.

Coursework is scheduled in six-month terms, but you simply move onto the next course if you finish one in a couple of weeks since the classes are self-paced.

Thanks! You completed 34 really quickly! Was it a lot of work, were you just trying to get it over with ASAP? I'm worried that with , I'll pay for the semesters and get caught up with the classes instead of quickly moving forward.

I just started the FlexPath RN-BSN with Capella and I love it! I just finished my first nursing course. There are 11 nursing courses and I only need to take one Humanities course, they accepted all my other credits (RN thru Excelsior and a few other college courses). No clinicals, no online discussions!!! You pay $2500 every 12 weeks and finish as many courses in that time as you want. When you finish a course you move on to the next. So far the first course was four assessments, each assessment was a paper. They explain exactly what each paper should cover. I was able to finish the first course in four weeks, one paper a week. Other courses may have more assessments. They are accredited by CCNE. And like Western Governors, they do not give you a grade, however, they did say they can convert it to a GPA, just not sure how that works. I was not able to do because I live in NC.

You said this program did not have clinicals. Did they have you shadow anyone? Did you have to video how to do an assessment? I am looking at Chamberlain but it is expensive. But I prefer the all paper. I have worked many years and have not interest in clinicals or shadowing. I hope you can help.

You said this program did not have clinicals. Did they have you shadow anyone? Did you have to video how to do an assessment? I am looking at Chamberlain but it is expensive. But I prefer the all paper. I have worked many years and have not interest in clinicals or shadowing. I hope you can help.

Chamberlain is all papers which is what I like but expensive. So I was looking at others and want to make sure they are all papers too. I am 60 and have 40 years of nursing under my belt. Please forgive me for saying this, but I don't want to shadow, do clinicals or community projects. I am interested in obtaining my BSN just for personal reasons before I retire. I was looking at Capella as the cost was better then most. Thanks for your reply as that does help guide me in the right direction.
