U.S.A. New York

SO I just got accepted YAY! I was wondering if there is anyone who has taken Health Assessment over the summer? I'd like to do this, to avoid taking 2 classes next Spring. I was wondering if its a doable class in just 9 days?

Also, If there is anyone else who got in for Fall 09..say Hi!

Specializes in ACLS.

I applied in early January and JUST found out. SCCC didn't even require a test so I don't know what really takes them so long.

I received my rejection letter from Stony Brook today so it will be Suffolk. However, I can not register for any nursing classes until I go to the orientation.

CONGRATS!

Deadline is Jan. 1..got my letter last wee of April. GOOD LUCK!

I havent done my orientatin yet either, it's not until the end of this month. But I went to the Nursing Dept. and got a letter to allow me to register for the summer class I wanted. The fall semester you do right after orientation. Are you doing nights or days?

I am still up in the air because I heard that I still have a chance of getting into Stony Brook. I will find out in the next couple of days and if my chances are bad I will go to the nursing school at Suffolk and get clearance so I too can take assessment over the summer. I already have all the non nursing classes taken care of, and the more I can lighten my load per semester, the better I can do in each class. If I get assessment over the summer then I only have to take fundamentals and nursing seminar in the fall.

I am Ammerman days and I will be attending the orientation on the evening of the 27th.

Congratulations to all of you who got into Suffolk. It is a great school and same with Stonybrook. I got Rejected from Suffolk, However, I got into Molloy Last Spring and I LOVE it. I start my 1st 5- Nursing Courses in late August ( Including my 1st Clinical.) I'll be graduating in a 1 1/2 since I'm accelarating a little bit. They let you do that if you keep your average above a B+. I'm so glad though that I'm getting my BSN and not worry about going back for a while because I do want to be a Nurse practitioner in the near future. Anyways ladies, I just wanted to share my story, but anyways, Good Luck to everyone in Nursing School!!!!!! I hope everyone have fun this summer!

Ohh you are doing an accelerated thats cool, do you already have an Associates LINurseDream? I have my Associates from NCC but I am just going for another Associates at Farmingdale this Fall. I feel like I've already wasted so much time (not really but) I just want to start school and start working already!!

No , I don't. I went to Suffolk and took all my requirements there except for organic chem which I took over at Molloy. My Nursing Counselor told me that I have two choices, either 2 Nursing courses or 5 in the Fall. it is weird because beleive or not, not many people know this at my school that You can accelarate if you keep a High Average. I just hope it is not too much on me. I could do some of them in the summer, but I need a small break from school. The organic chem class consumed me, but it was worth it. I have nothing else left now, I just need to finish all my Nursing courses to finish school...YEAHHHH! It has been a long road.. too long for me.

But anyways, I heard Farmingdale is an excellent school...are you going for the BSN or the Associates degree?

I talked to the head of recruiting for the nursing school at Stony Brook and he told me that there probably won't be any spots opening up, so I am going to the SCCC Nursing School first thing Monday the 11th and trying to get permission to register for health assessment over the Summer. Which class are you in? There are only 4 spots left in all three classes. After you got permission, could you register immediately? I asked RNs that went to SCCC if they heard of any of the instructors, but none of them did.

That is really awesome that you accelerated like that good for you! Being that I haven't even started any nursing classes yet I don't want to get ahead of myself looking to go faster haha. I was going to take Micro in the summer but I want to remain a full time student in the fall so I am going to take it with the other nursing classes and I am worried about that :X And yes I am doing the Associates program at Farmingdale and I'm super excited!

Good Choice... Micro is not that bad.. I actually loved it. Good luck to you love!

I like going on www.ratemyprofessors.com and reading the reviews of professors there before I register for a class:D
