  1. Hi Kasia, I am so sorry I am just seeing this post now when I was doing a search about some other classes. Thank you so much for responding previously. I am sorry, but I have not taken those classes yet, you are a few classes ahead of me I suspect. However, I am just finishing Statistics (TORTURE), so if you need any help with that, its pretty fresh in my mind. Also let me know if you have questions about any other classes, I took the Vietnam History class, and the other ones you listed above, so I doubt I am much help. Sorry. I am debating now between NR443 and NR447. Those are the only two I am eligible for until Chamberlain gets my Stats transcript. I was leaning towards NR443, how is that class? Thanks for any help, Lu-Ann
  2. Hi Kasia, I was searching allnurses to find information about NR361. I signed up for this semester, but was hoping to find out what the workload is for this class. I am so stressed with other classes and my job, but this one sounded doable. How is is going? Thanks for any help. Lu-Ann
  3. Hi, I am interested in finding more information about this program. I am seriously considering applying for my BSN here because they take most of my credits, and its completely online. Does anyone have feedback that they could share with me? Is tehre anyone in the program or a gradute that is willing to share their experience, or offer tips? How manageable is the class while working full time and having family? Thank you any and all that have input to offer. L
  4. suzers26 thanks so much for your replies. I had several interventions that you listed already, but you pointed out a few more that make perfect sense, and I should definitely add to my answer sheet. Thank You so much for taking the time to help out. I just hit a wall yesterday, and couldn't think anymore...funny how that happens in school sometimes!
  5. Hi All, I am working on a class assignment, and have most of it finished, but there are a few questions that I am unsure of ..I have a good idea of the right answers, but I wanted to see if anyone could offer up some better answers than I have... 2. What procedures should the nurse anticipate the physician would do to minimize fetal and maternal injury immedietely before and during delivery? Describe. ...Not sure what they mean here 10. If you find something abnormal for the newborn during the apgar assessment, what are your nursing interventions? ....Of course i would want to treat the baby anyway I can with suctioning or applying oxygen and reporting status to the MD, but what more should I be doing? 11. What interventions must be taken to ensure the safety of the infant? ...again, making sure baby is getting enough O2, wrapping in blanket to preserve heat, but what else? 17. If You come across an obviously pregnant woman who is leaning over the hood of her car and yelling, "The baby's coming, please help me! I feel the baby's head coming out." No one is available except you! How will you help her? ..This is just a fun question here, that I will throw back at my classmates when I present the case study. I'd call 911 and pray they would get their fast, haha..but really I would check to see if the baby was crowning, and ask mom how far apart contractions are , when they started etc.. but is there more specifics I should get into that would be very important? Thank you if you read this far, I appreciate any and all help. :)
  6. Hey Doug, how are you?? What are you talking about drop 22765? How are your classes going?
  7. I am not in BSN program, but in for my AAS for RN. I work full time and have a 1 1/2 year old boy. I won't lie , its hard! My eyes are red from being so tired every day, HAHA. I stay up, and put my son to bed and THEN the schoolwork starts. I try to do something special every weekend, get schoolwork in at naptime. It's a difficult balance, but with enough determination, can be done. GOOD LUCK!
  8. It's awsome you are making the career change, I do think it takes courage to move out of a comfort zone, and go after a big goal. I started with my prereqs in the summer of 06(30 credits so far)...so its been a LONG HAUL for me. You must have had most of the non nursing classes done already if you just started last yr. The most classes I could take was 2 per semester, and I lost a semester due to some extentuating circumstances with my family, which put me a year behind for application..but I am here now, and just keep plugging along, trying not to think how long it will take. Its funny, I thought Chem. would be one of the hardest classes, but so far it was one of the easier ones, well besides the fluffy english and Psych classes. I thought micro was a challenge (so glad that is over)..too much pressure for those A's... I'll keep those stethescopes in mind, I got the workbook and pocketguide, but borrowing the text. My friend will also give me her workbook to help a little, to compare my answers too. SHe just finished assessment this semester, and is the one who convinced me to sign up for summer, because it would be too much next spring. I am in the night program...can't do days. Does your job pay for you to go to school?? That would be so cool..
  9. Your right..I am just paranoid..but I do have a pretty uncommon name, so easier to find me, not that anyone cares, but you know..just one of those things. So that is quite a commute for you to go to Ammerman. I live pretty close, but have a 9-5 mon- fri. job so this was the only program that really fit my schedule. Thats awsome you are a CNA, you will already know how to do some things!!! In high school, many moons ago I got my CNA, and a diploma for practical nursing through BOCES. Of course, like the young idiot I was, never took my licensing exam, and got into retail management, because it made more $$ at the time, and was a field I liked. I am sooo kicking myself in the butt now. I do hope some of that training comes back to me, but who knows. I am in the medical field a little bit now, but more on the outskirts in medical research. Are you ready to start class on Monday!!! Jeez, no break, but will be better in the long run. I wonder if we need a stethescope for this, for the Lab..hmmm
  10. I can't post anymore personal info on a public forum (sorry). I wish I could be there early, but I have work, so I will get there in time, but not too early. I am looking forward to getting the info. too. If I spot you, maybe I'll say Hi. I am happy about this, but soooo NERVOUS! I am a good student, but this is a whole new ballgame, I work full time and have a family so it should be interesting....
  11. I will be there tonight! Do we register right away tonight? Or do we have to wait for registrar tomorrow? Hmm
  12. did you hear if Prof. Borrero was any good? noone i talked seemed to know who it was....I pray she is ok...
  13. Yes, I was able to register right away. The professors were not on ratemyprofessor, so I took the one that has the same lecture teacher as the clinical. instead of two different ones, I hope thats not a huge mistake. Let me know if you sign up and if you are in my class :-)
  14. I am sure you still have a chance, it will just depend on the grade pool for the semester you applied for. I bet even if you dont get in at first, with that GPA you will get a waitlist letter and get in at a later date as people don't accept or drop. GOOD LUCK!
  15. I havent done my orientatin yet either, it's not until the end of this month. But I went to the Nursing Dept. and got a letter to allow me to register for the summer class I wanted. The fall semester you do right after orientation. Are you doing nights or days?
