I am a nursing student and my wife is an experienced RN-BSN. Just wondering if there is such a thing as international agency nursing. Are we able to go work in Australia or Canada (or anywhere else) for 3 months for example?

Not that I am aware of. Each country has it's own nursing as well as work requirements that have to be met.

You would still need the necessary nursing licenses and work visas. Agencies can't circumvent that.
Way cool!

It's highly unlikely that a Canadian hospital would hire a foreigner for three months work.
Our hospitals are mainly unionized and it would have to proven that there wasn't a nurse in Canada able to do the job.
Every province requires a different practice permit.
HR moves slowly. From application to hiring? Eight weeks is considered the speed of light hiring. Factor in it would take at least a month to become familiar with the running of the unit, different names for medications, etc.
I think it's a wonderful dream.
Have you considered volunteering with a church or charity? I know nurses in my hospital that do this on their vacation. Kenya, Ecuador, El Salvador have all been recent destinations.

Yes there are def international nursing agencies that allow u travel and work internationally! Ty do often help with visa status etc, but sometimes they also require u to sign a contract for a certain amount of time, etc.... But I have friends who have done it, so it's def a viable option!!

If you want to work in
Australia as a casual, holiday maker nurse, you will need to be from a country that has agreements and allows holiday work visa's into Australia and you will have to be assessed with the national board to become a Registered Nurse in Australia, no agency can approve your Registration, nor change your country status, if not holiday work visa approval country, they can however shuffle the papers, and take your money.
If you pass all that, YOU, yourself can approach casual nurse agencies and nurse banks at hospitals for work, though if you have no experience it will be difficult.
