Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

This board has been really slow for the past two days. Is everyone busy studying, or am I the only Allnurses.com junkie? :chuckle

I've been studying chemistry. I'll know what I made on my 1st chem test come Monday. I think I did ok....I hate having to wait for my grade....lol

How are your classes going?

Specializes in Operating Room.
I have my ears open. I just graduated in May. Passed boards in June. I have wonderful notes. PM me for details :)

Thanks & congrats!

I'll definitely love to see your notes! I believe seeing things in different perspectives helps to learn the material!

I will let you know after I start my first day of the fall semester tonight. I took Organic and Inorganic Chem 2 semesters ago though (so I may be of help) and you can help me with my A&P11 :rotfl:

Specializes in Med/Surg, Hospice.

I have an "A" average so far in sociology, based on 4 quizzes.

Turned in my first paper for psych today and have an exam on Monday, so I'll know in a few days how well it's going. My daughter took this same teacher's course a few years ago and said that it was an easy class. He gave us a review sheet for the exam. All I have to do is make sure I know all of the info on it.

Biology is moving very slowly. I am amazed at how little material we cover each class. There are a lot of very young students and a few of them tend to slow us down. (There are also many younger adults in the class who are very mature and are keeping up just fine). However, the few who are clueless just monopolised a 1 1/2 hour class this morning with their stupid comments and questions. I suspect they are not as slow as they seem, but are playing the teacher to see how much time they can waste. After all, I haven't taken a biology class in 26 years, and I still understand and remember most of what we are covering.

My concern is that we will not get very far before the semester ends, and bio is a prereq for other courses I need to take.

I am also preparing to take the CLEP in English Comp I and II on Sept 19, and the ACT on Oct 22. I will be so glad when I am done preparing for these tests and only have to do work for my classes! (Have to take a math placement test yet too. I think the prep for the ACT will help me nail that one.)

Specializes in L&D.

Cool! Another "grownup nurse" like me LOL!! I graduated and passed my boards as an LPN 32 years ago..and just last week stepped into a college class for the first time since. I've had one A&P class and this am I had Human Growth and Developement. I did very well on my testing and will Klep out of english. I just have to ask them to order the tests. I wondered this am after sitting for 3 hours in that lecture whether or not I could Klep out of that class. My goal is to take all my pre'reqs this year, then do my clinics next year graduating in May 07.

Good luck to you!

I don't get to come on nearly as much now:( started the RN program a few weeks ago....talk about stress! I never imagined there would be this much work! Everyone said it would be rough....that was an understatement! Enjoy the time you have before you get accepted into the program because once you start, there is no free time! Good luck guys!!

I feel like all I am doing is studying & feeling guilty for not spending more time with boys and when I'm not studying, I'm feeling guilty about not studying.

Anyone else feel like this?

I think it's funny this is on here, :nono: it's not the no/no smilie - it's the "bird" smilie -- look at the fingers.

TOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!

matsgrl, I feel the same way.

We used to go out every Saturday night, our "date" night. Since I've gone back to school, I felt too guilty going out. So, we hardly ever go out anymore.

Kiddos are actually at my cousin's for the night, so we're going to take advantage of my "no study weekend". LOL

I have also been studying like mad. Religion is going pretty good. Spanish is ok but worried about the first test. I can't remember everything since I don't speak it at all with anyone else. Maybe I should have taken that in a classroom setting instead of through telecourse. Chemistry is ok. Our teacher is still doing calculations. Last class he lectured to some students about being prepared and if we need help he would be willing to help us on a Saturday for like 3-4 hours if we need to. We only have an hour per class and sometimes he just goes off on other subjects. Wish he would stay on topic.

Good luck to you too! :)

I studied my whole "vacation"....took summer classes. lol

I told the kiddos I'll try to take online classes next summer if I take any classes at all. Nursing school may have me pulled to my whit's end. I've been going non-stop since last November taking fast-track courses. I'll probably need a break. lol (THAT'S ASSUMING I GET IN FOR SPRING!) :)

Enjoy the last few days of your vacation, and good luck with the fall semester! :)

Since I started this fall semester, I have been busy. I feel I don't even have that much time to come on allnurses like I use to. I started a&p last wed. Tomorrow we have our first quiz and I have lab. I am so nervous, this is going to be a lot. Our quiz is on the 11 organ systems. which thank you to someone on this website the ( send mr. uric--l) has really helped me remember them all. How is chem, Oh that was my worst class. I have achieved all A and B in all my classes so far except chem, I got a C. You will do fine seeing all your grades are excellent. Well good luck, just wanted to say hello
