ugh, i am working on some major poundage and am looking for other nursing students who understand the concept of STRESS eating! -----------------------------------
anywho, i am on weight watchers and have lost over 40 pounds--with more to go. any takers? we can keep track of each other. i have three semesters left and my 34th birthday in in october--i want to lose about 20 pounds before my b-day and i want to look good in my whites at pinning! :)
hi, my name is barb. i have been lurking on your thread for a couple of days. i am currently enrolled in an online msn program and find myself slowly and steadily creeping up in weight. i have put on the traditional "freshman fifteen" above the already 20+/- lbs i am above my ww lifetime goal...sigh.i would like to join in on the weight loss efforts here, i am currently 35 lbs above my lifetime goal weight. my goal is to lose 10lbs. by labor day weekend, the end of the summer challenge. my longer term goal is to be within 5 lbs. of my lifetime goal by the holidays.
i lost the thread and found it again, it is a little difficult to navigate. i read a post somewhere here that asked about the administrators about making this a separate subject. with that said, i would also like to extend an invitation to join me on a small weight loss support board at ezboard. at one time it was a very large group and we closed it to new members. our moderators left and the remaining members opened a new board with the same format. sadly we are down to a handful of members and are looking to get the group going again to its former glory. we call ourselves the "no excuses team" or net sisters. we come from different walks of life and follow different plans. but our goals are the same, to provide support, encouragement, and sometimes needed kicks in the pants in a respectful forum. from what i have seen here and read in the posts here, i believe you all are just the kind of new members we are looking for.
i have included the link here:

come on over and check us out :welcome: if you have any non-nurse friends you think might be interested you could share this link with them as well.

:welcome: Hi barb-I will definitely check out your board!
I will add you to weigh ins which are on Saturdeays. Tomorrow can be your start day if you like.
10 pounds is a reasonable goal. We are rooting for you! :) Amy

HI Guys,
I am reallllly struggling right now. I cant seem to get any weight off despite doing everything RIGHT! What is going on? This is my 7th week on program and the last two weeks I gained, then only lost half of what I gained--then it looks like this morning I gained again???? I hate this and I am so sick of trying with no success.
Please say a little prayer for me--I need to lose weight in order to stay healthy. I dont want to be a model--I just want to be NORMAL...
I feel like quitting, but I just dont want to be obese forever, so I know I will keep going, at least for today.
Amy,
Thanks for the welcome.
As for the not seeing changes, if you have added in exercise you may not be seeing changes on the scale as you swap lean muscle for fat. How are your clothes fitting, are you noticing things getting looser. The scale isn't the only place you will see success. You may want to take baseline measurements and then monthly. Sometimes you will see changes on the tape and not on the scale.
They are called NSV's "non-scale victories" changes you recognize as successes without necessarily being reflected in the number on the scale.
Things like passing up something you know isn't on your plan; buttoning a pair of pants comfortably; inches lost on the tape measure....etc.
Hope this helps. Plateau's can be intensely frustrating, just keep doing the RIGHT things and they will catch up with you :)

Thanks for writing back so quickly! :)
I am familiar w/ NSV's...I think what is frustrating is that I bounce up and down about 3 pounds. I just cant seem to get beyond this number on the scale.
My husband thinks I need to stay away from the scale on a daily basis and I am beginning to think he is right. Its one of those things where I KNOW that if I stay Op the weight WILL come off...eventually. I am just irritated right now.
My clothes ARE fitting better. I need to remember that.
BUT my scrub pants STILL dont fit and school is 4 weeks away. I really wanted to get back into them and not go up a size! They are just too tight to wear and not look like a freak. *UGH*
I sound like a crazy person today. NEGATIVE!
Ok, happy thought: my house is really clean. (Yeah, that is all I could think of.)
