Students for Fall 2014 Tri-C program?

U.S.A. Ohio

I knew I may be kind of premature with this topic but I wanted to start a thread for the people who have been accepted into the Tri-C nursing program for the fall semester. As of this morning, I was provisionally accepted into the program at Metro. Has anyone else been placed and if so which campus?

I have an old edition of my pharmacology book. The girl I bought my books from went to Eastern campus. She said that her instructor said it was okay to get old editions to save money. But, I'm sure it varies from instructor to instructor. I'm not sure if we can rent. I was told we have to use the same books pretty much through the entire program. So i'm sure it would be better to buy them. By the time you re rent them every semester, you probably would have saved money by buying. As for the tote, we need it to take to lab. It has things such as syringes, dressing changes, catheters and etcetera. Have you looked on our group message board? There are a lot of previous students selling books. I would defiantly try that route. I'm glad I did.

Okay. I will look into that. Thank you

I plan on going from 2-4. Do you remember where its going to be held at?

It did not mention a location in the announcement email.

Anybody else know when the book funds will became available? I know they changed the last few semesters to a week prior but with everything I am showing, it seems like we really should have our books at least a few weeks prior to starting. Anybody else have an opinion on this?

Book funds are available the week before classes start. What do you mean with everything you are showing? Have they already posted reading assignments or something? I haven't had a chance to get onto the group site lately.

I knew I should have expanded on that. They posted that we need to be ready with our math and some stuff I have looked up on my own. A lot of articles and past nursing students have mentioned that getting ahead on your reading will help tons. So it was just personal interest readings that I came up with that.

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I was about to totally freak out considering that I don't have all my books just yet.

ETA: @Vulsker, do you happen to know what we are supposed to be reading? I think it is a good idea to possibly read ahead before class officially start.

You can find where to begin reading by going to the Groups site>Syllabi>1450>Class Schedule. (I didn't check under 1300, but there may be more info there.)

Associate had it right. I didn't read it fully just yet but I will be sure to at least start planning within the next week or so.

I was reading through the handbook on the uniform because I have to get ready to go grab my stuff within the 2 weeks. So I never noticed but we have to dress business casual in lab and class? It says jeans are allowed but have to be neat. I just don't remember them saying it had to be business casual, just look neat and presentable.

Just be neat and clean. No holes in your jeans. Iron your lab coat. Have pride in your appearance.

That's what I figured. I was just making sure they really didn't require us to be in like a dress shirt or polo at all times.
