Students for Fall 2014 Tri-C program?

U.S.A. Ohio

I knew I may be kind of premature with this topic but I wanted to start a thread for the people who have been accepted into the Tri-C nursing program for the fall semester. As of this morning, I was provisionally accepted into the program at Metro. Has anyone else been placed and if so which campus?

I mean I'm just going to read a book now lol. Wish I could give you more advice about the associates.

How is the ACEMAPP coming along? Has anyone finished yet?

I haven't gotten the chance to work on it just yet. Hopefully I'll have it finished on my end asap.

Any students starting in fall buy a used lab tote? I'm buying some used books and they are also selling a lab tote. Kinda hesitant on it. Was wondering if anyone else had done this.

This is a strange question, but does anyone know what kind of rules this program has about absences? I know many nursing programs will only let you miss one day, if that. I am trying to plan around school next year but it looks like I would need to miss a week.

I have heard various things in regards to absences. I was told that you cannot miss a day but someone else told me that they do some type of point system where you can't miss a certain amount of days.

I am not sure at all but I would suggest calling the nursing dept to be clarify.

Have anyone finish the acemapp yet? I finished the first 4 assessment but stuck on the last one;( super nervous and panic now;( get two more chance. Anyone know how many question we can miss on one assessment test? Good luck to everyone

Yes. I finished it last week. I believe you can miss up to 4 in order to pass. Don't quote me on that though.

Good luck to you.

Has anyone started buying books yet and if so, can you point me in the direction of where I can find the list of books we need?

I want to go ahead and start buying books so I won't have to buy the $760 box from the bookstore.

I bought all my books and my tote used. Got lucky and an old student who was transferring sold it all to me for only $250. You can find the list of books in our group under "files". Once there, click the drop arrow next to "Syllabi Summer 2014". Click "1300/1450". Then you will have the option to print our fall 2014 syllabus for both classes. The required books are listed in there. If you can't find it. Message back and I will copy and paste all the books when I get a chance.

I found it but I was wondering if we could use the previous edition for the books or if I could possibly rent the books.

And what exactly is in the tote?

I have an old edition of my pharmacology book. The girl I bought my books from went to Eastern campus. She said that her instructor said it was okay to get old editions to save money. But, I'm sure it varies from instructor to instructor. I'm not sure if we can rent. I was told we have to use the same books pretty much through the entire program. So i'm sure it would be better to buy them. By the time you re rent them every semester, you probably would have saved money by buying. As for the tote, we need it to take to lab. It has things such as syringes, dressing changes, catheters and etcetera. Have you looked on our group message board? There are a lot of previous students selling books. I would defiantly try that route. I'm glad I did.
