I am getting a feeling that you want an easier life..... feeling entitled maybe.... I gave up a great day job when i became a mom; i worked every lousy shift on every awful unit.... we had 1 car; I took the bus to work....life is rough.... maybe your attitude shows when you apply for those jobs..... do you come across with demands??? sorry to be rough, BUT.......

I fell behind on my student loans when my husband was in the Icu and almost bled out. I called my lender and worked out a plan. There is a plan that can cut your student loan monthly payment. I am working on becoming current on my payments. I worked too hard for my nursing license, and I definetly do not want to lose it, since I am the primary wage earner in my household. Where there is a will, there is a way. Talk with your lender. They do not want your loans in default, they will work with you. They have programs out there to help you.

I dont understand how you have to pay $800/month for student loans. I owe $32,000 and my total payments are only $300/month. I dont think we are getting your whole story.

I owe MUCH more than you. Each Loan balance is 80,000+40000+5000=125000 is NOT going to give me a payment of 300.00 month.

I went to public funded schools. Bachelors in Chemistry was 5 years, I found nursing and chose to become an ARNP, so four more years in BSN, and 1.5 years towards ARNP. I did not have help from parents and I had to borrow to cover housing and all other expenses. Get it???

AGAIN, why can't people repsond to the ORIGINAL post, hardly any of those who have are student loan defaulters, the rest of you just want to throw stones!

LeeLEE, honey, I have never HAD it easy in life, if I have I would not be in this mess. You shouldn't "get the feeling I want it easy" this is a FORUM for crying out loud, You do not know me and again like the majority of the people responding are not in student loan default so please do NOT post unless you ARE

Many posters have posted about what has helped them to avoid loan defaults. When you post here, you might not always get the advice that you want.

Few posters are going to want to admit on the public internet that they defaulted on student loans.

In IL, if you default on student loans you are subject to disciplinary action by our BON. And, I doubt we are the only state.

Although I know you are upset about CRNA school and your current situation, please understand that taking your concerns to your lending agency might be the best way to proceed.

OP needs a Suzie Orman intervention before you become completely financially destitute.

I have not been a student loan defaulter, but I have come close. Have you talked to your student loan agencies yet? They usually are very willing to do forbearances (sp?). Considering your current situation, I would apply for that at least temporarily until you can get back on your feet a bit. I got a forbearance when my husband was very ill. I don't even recall them asking for proof, I called them on the phone, explained the situation, they asked how long I needed it, I told them, and it was done.

I can relate to the massive student loans holding over my head. :/ I know it is a rough economy and everyone is telling you to get another job. A lot of people aren't aware how rough it is for ANYONE to get a job right now.

And I know with the little ones it is completely stressful right now too. Little babies when you have to work I think is one of the hardest things in the world.

I can't really think of any other advice other than talking to the loan companies based on your situation. Good luck to you.

Child care IS expensive. The cheapest one I could find, which is through my job, costs almost 900 month. (I do work full time though)
