Stuck... waiting (small vent)

Published

I haven't been "officially" accepted into the nursing program yet. The program I am trying to get into has an admission system based on preference points, and statistically I have more points than their minimum needed. However, until I have that letter stating that "YES, you're IN", I am anxiously checking the mail! They accept 72 students per semester, with an average of 300 applicants. I am not a very patient person and this waiting is KILLING ME!! I applied over a month ago! Anyway, I guess I will just have to be patient a little while longer, as much as I hate it. lol

My school accepts around 100 a semester, but I heard they have over 1000 applicants!! I was accepted for this fall after taking 2 years of prereq's.

I am waiting too. Our school is giving everyone until June 16th to turn in their transcripts for spring quarter/semester...so that means we dont' find out until some time next month even though applications were due back in March. I'm not patient so this is driving me a little nuts, especially bc I have all my prerecs done. :-/

i know exactly what you're going through the wait is agonizing and burtal especially if are the type of student who likes to get things done early like i did deadline was april 30th i turned my app in march 12th...yeah a lot early...so the deadline just passed yesterday and now we wait until the 3rd or 4th (im sure the 4th) week of May to receive our rejection/acceptance letters. Lets just hope all this waiting turns into a good thing and worth it! Good luck to you and all you others who are having heart attacks when you notice mail in you box or the mailman heading straight to your box with LOTS of mail :uhoh3: :lol2:

Specializes in Med/ Surg/ Telemetry, Public Health.

Yes I am in the waiting game also. It sucks because I check the mail everyday, but I won't officially know anything until next week. A friend of mine got a denial letter the third week after the deadline, I didn't. I hope that is a good sign that I got in. When I turned in my app I asked the admissions coordinator when do letters go out she said in six weeks. Praying I get accepted, I have been so stressed I can't eat or sleep.I got a letter today from the school, and I almost had a panic attack just opening the letter, LOL! It was a letter from the financial aid office letting me know I am elgible to recieve grants for the Fall. Well I quess I will check back in and let you all know my results next week. Good luck to all who have applied and are waiting on acceptance letters.

I totally empathize! I applied march 1st, had to wait a month just to find out if I was selected for an interview or not, then wait for that and stress, THEN go home and wait for a letter. That was the longest week of my life! It was my second semester applying too. Hang in there!

I had to go through the same thing. Initially, I was accepted to the school but not the nursing program. I had to wait 2 months to find out after that. I literally felt paralyzed. I could not move forward in anything until I knew for sure that I was in. Now that I've been accepted to the nursing program officially, my stress has gone waaaaay down and I can get back to living again. Now I can focus on being excited!

I hope all goes well!!! Good Luck!

My school does not even send out denial letters. I had applied for last semester, fully expecting to get in because my grades were great, and never heard anything. My friend got her acceptance letter and when I did not get mine I called. They had completely messed up and never informed me I had to take this math placement test. They had even sent me a waiver saying I did not have to take it. I was soooo mad. If I never called them, I would probobly still be wondering why I was not getting in. It is a relief knowing that I am in now though. Now I can relax this summer and not have to worry about it. Good luck to you all!!!
