struggling student needs advice

Published

Hello everyone!

This is my first time posting on here so bare with me. I am a student located in Oakland finishing up my prerequisites for nursing, I only have intro to ochem left but my grades are not that great. The past few years have not been the best years for me because of family problems so my grades suffered deeply. I have Bs for anatomy and physiology, A for intro chem, and a C for micro....:(. I have been looking at schools and it is so depressing because my grades are just not good enough! However, nursing is something I know I want to do. I have always been the caring and nurturing type and I actually like being in the hospital. So, I guess im just wondering if anyone had similar experience and how you guys went about it or just any advice about what to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I would start retaking classes to replace C's with A's because that will bring your GPA up.

That is not uncommon but does require a lot of work. I'd suggesting retaking Micro and try to apply after that. If that doesn't work retake anatomy 1 and reapply. Continue until you get in. If moving is an option that too would help you.

Keep your grades up and keep moving forward.
