Straighterline Anatomy & Physiology 1

I am currently taking A&P 1 through straighterline. Has anyone taken or completed A&P through straighterline? I find the quizzes to be OK due to the fact that they are open book. The material is so dense and I find myself using majority of my time looking up the answers. I am afraid I am going to get to my final exam, which is not open book, and just ruin my grade. Does anyone have any tips or feedback on the final exam? Straighterline does not have a good study guide or lecture really. The material is heavy, and it is very difficult to know what what to study. Can anyone help?

I just took quiz 3 and got a 70%. Maybe I’m just not cut out for this ....

Alright. I finished the final, I got a 77% on the test and a 90% in the class overall. I found the final significantly easier than the other tests and blasted through it in under 20 minutes without studying.

My particular experience was a lot of basic Chemistry questions, with some tricky endocrinology and neurology related questions. There were only a handful of questions related to skin, hairs, muscle, bones, etc.

What would you recommend using to study aside from the textbook? Are there any A&P resources you recommend?

Don't feel bad, I think I bombed that quiz. I felt the same exact way. Chapter 3 was my worst one. I am currently on chapter 14. If you can, take your time and try not to rush through it. I am trying to take it as long as I have to in order to get the best possible grade I can.

Thanks, I dont know if I should keep going or switch over to portage learning which has the lab built in....I know the courses will be hard no matter what.

Since a straighterline is alternative credit you don’t have to list it on your application if you do poorly. Finish it, then go in and rock portage. Just skip the lab portion. Consider straighterline a dry run.

That quiz was a bear, and I test VERY well. I can finish most subjects without ever studying. I’m just a weirdo who can read once and test. Don’t feel bad. A&P gets easier with exposure.

OK-I have to take Microbiology, A&p1 and 2, nutrition and human growth and development, I have to transfer 9 credit hours with a 3.0 or above. Any advice for quiz 4. genetics? I was a little annoyed quiz 3 had genetic questions when this was not on the syllabus to be covered for quiz 3

I had previously read Prescott’s Microbiology, Molecular and Cell Biology for dummies, etc. I wouldn’t go to all that trouble though.

probably your best bet is to practice the straighterline A&P final quiz let’s that are out there: https://quizlet.com/421166222/straighterline-ap-1-cumulative-final-flash-cards/

That one is tough if you’re not very familiar with Microbiology and genetics already. I’d look up some quizlets and pay attention to the questions people have posted. That will tell you what you need to know. My only other advice is know where in the chapter different topics are.

Considering straighterline to repeat physio and Chemistry. On average how long does it take from start to finish to complete each class?

Straighterline is alt-credit (ACE) make sure your school takes it. I completed Chemistry in something like 12 days, but I was also practicing in aleks and reading the 1000 page book, and I had zero background in the subject.

I completed anatomy & physiology 1 & 2 in less than a month. Tons of little quizzes. Over 30 between the two classes. The labs are separate courses. I have done those yet. If someone has already read the material either class could be completed in a rushed pace of 3-5 days assuming you test, test, test like a maniac. I did A&P 2 quizzes 7, midterm, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, & final in one day.

Thanks for your feedback anewmanx. Do you know if A & P 2 is the same as taking physio by itself? Im taking anatomy this Summer at community college and still need physio (repeat). Is straighterline A & P the equivalent?
