Straighterline Anatomy & Physiology 1

I am currently taking A&P 1 through straighterline. Has anyone taken or completed A&P through straighterline? I find the quizzes to be OK due to the fact that they are open book. The material is so dense and I find myself using majority of my time looking up the answers. I am afraid I am going to get to my final exam, which is not open book, and just ruin my grade. Does anyone have any tips or feedback on the final exam? Straighterline does not have a good study guide or lecture really. The material is heavy, and it is very difficult to know what what to study. Can anyone help?

I just started A and P 1 with straighterline. It’s tough!! Any advice ?

Pay attention to the tests I specified above were the most difficult.

there’s no way around reading the material and getting quick at searching the ebook when they ask something obscurely difficult. As a pay per take provider they have a vested interest in people having to repeat the course.

Yay congratulations on your final!@anewmanx must feel great. Did you notice any repeat questions from the previous quizzes?

No, actually. They were generally broader concept questions that required a grasp on the overall material. The other quizzes and the reading required to properly answer them would provide more than sufficient broad knowledge to answer the questions. Your mileage may vary, as I’m generally a good test taker. Many of the questions were definitely covered in previous quizzes, but were presented in different or simpler terms. Some of he questions I had to rely on systems knowledge to eliminate erroneous answers when I didn’t know the specific name of a muscle in X group, etc.

If you have previous experience in healthcare I’m sure you’ll do well. This is all new to me. I had only studied for the biology CLEP before all this, aside from knowledge I obtained from my own health problems and chronic illness of family members, etc. previous knowledge of Greek sure has proven handy.

At least in my case, none of those "put the following in order" dreaded questions showed up.

Started A&P 2, reading done. Quizzes 1&2 are easy, quiz 3 is a race against the clock with 1-2 questions that are not adequately covered by the material.

A&P 2 Quizzes 4,5,6,7 are not too bad.

Midterm is easy.

Quiz 8 is easy.

Quiz 9 is a bear.

I'll keep you posted. I expect to finish tomorrow..

Can I ask how you incorporate the lab with all of the quizzes? Any advice?

The lab is a separate course with straighterline that aligns with the main course material and has submissions / exams of its own.

My intention is to take all of the labs during one 30 day stretch after I have completed everything.

on that note: quizzes 10, 11, 12, & 13 weren’t that bad. I’d say 12 was the worst of that set.

Now on to the final.

Thanks! I am about to take quiz 3. Cell biology. The course outline does not mention studying genes and gene expression. Should I still study this?

That was a hard one iirc. Know where the diagram is for the plasma membrane. Also know which part of the book covers microscopes. Also be familiar with where different things happen in the cell, especially with regard to rna. At least based on the quiz they generated for me. It’s open book but still rough if you don’t know where those diagrams are.

Got it. Thank you! Hoping to take it on Wednesday.

A&P 2 final is ROUGH. Went in with a 98% and finished with a 88%. I’m happy with that, but that’s got to be the hardest straighterline final I’ve ever had.
