Stopped at 85...I think i FAILED. Easy questions vs hard?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Took my test yesterday and stopped at 85 in 2 hrs...how can you classify your questions as easy or hard? well i felt like my questions were easy because many of them i learned from nursing school and unfortunately got some wrong- because i forgot so much! i felt like all my questions were low level questions since i've heard of them before. now i feel so sure i failed. i got lots of priority and a few SATA no calc...lots of medsurg! i also don't feel i prepard as well as i should have. goodness i feel so low now because i am letting down so many people and myself by failing and i just cant bear to take it again. i try not to think about it, but can't help it! i keep reading all the posts here and i'm just feeling even more worse! but im glad to know that so many are feeling the same.

has anyone passed with "easy questions" and stopped at 85? i hear many people get questions they never heard of before but that's good since it means its a harder question. but again i felt my questions were ones i should have known from nursing school and failed to remember. i am so bummed...especially since i have to wait forever for the results bc i'm in Cali.

Any example of an easy question vs hard question?

To fail at 85 you would have to get every question wrong. Do you think you got all 85 questions wrong?

This is not true at all! Not even close. You get 50% right and 50% wrong. If you got your 50% right in the passing standard then you pass. You do not have to get them all wrong to fail...

To the OP, congrats on passing!

I just took the NCLEX two days ago and stopped at 85. the questions were so damn hard. I felt like dying after the test.. It was nerve-wracking. I got 13-15 select all that apply, a lot of med surge and about 13-16 pharm questions asking about different stuff. A lot on PEDS, only had 4 math questions. did i pass? I was an A-student who went to a private school in east LA. I studied my butt off for 3 months :heartbeatand used different strategies from kaplan Qbank, mosby's and saunder's. But why do i feel like i failed coz i had too many select all that apply questions?

HELP!!!!!

it's a good thing that you thought the questions were hard and it's a good sign that you stopped at 85. I can't tell you if you passed or not though. But getting select all to apply and priority questions means you're doing well. I think you shoudn't worry too much. you do have a long wait for the results... so just relax and enjoy your free time before you actually start working as a nurse. EVERYONE feels the same way as you after taking the test. As you can tell from my post...that's exactly how i felt. Most likely...you PASSED. so best of luck! :D

Thread moved to the NCLEX Forum since once one has been granted permission to sit for the exam, they are no longer a student.

Best of luck to those that still have to test or are waiting for results.

same here! to me, the nclex i took was easy! 85% medsurg, the rest was psych and maternity-pediatric!

several sata, priority, nutrition, post-op and pre-op, no math!

i knew almost all of them, and answered wrong on all 2 sata, the rest i could remember were the ones i got wrong!

i left the testing center feeling so fresh and happy and confident because i believed i did pretty darn well!

then couple hours later i got panic because i realized i got some wrong, or so many wrong (i could not dare myself to remember how many wrong more i got).

48 hours later my license status changed from "pending" to "active"...hell yeah! i think to myself, "lord, i passed because you let me pass!"

if you live in state with quick result, maybe checking the state department of health website 48 hrs later! i did not do the quick results on pearsons though, i was totally broke!

good luck and please let us know how that goes!

congrats rn!!!

wow you must have reviewed really well to feel that nclex is easy..what were your preparations for the nclex? what were the materials that you used?

god is great!

i am worrying because mine shut off with 111 questions. its my third time and i think i failed again:( well still waiting for d result.
