StonyBrook ABSN: Class of 2021

Published

Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.

I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

Hey! Congrats everyone! That's amazing!

I interviewed on the first date in October but haven't heard anything yet. If I don't hear anything today do you think that means I didn't get in? Do I still have a chance? I'm freaking out!

does anyone know if any rejections or wait lists were sent out yet?

Some rejections were, I got mine! Already enrolled for Binghamton though so it's all good. Congrats to all accepted and good luck to all still waiting!

Congrats everyone! I just got my rejection and I’m so upset. I graduated SBU with a 3.9 gpa and I think I did ok on the interview. They said they cannot provide individual feedback, but should I still call and ask? I honestly don’t know what has gone wrong. I wasn’t even waitlisted

Don't lose hope! It could be sent out in waves, and also there are waitlist spots!

Congrats everyone!! I just got my rejection letter. I am a total wreck but have to get over this one hump. Now it is time to think positive and move on to plan B. Good luck to all who got good new.

Damn, received my rejection letter too. No wait list for me. Sucks but at least I am not waiting any longer I guess.

SBU was my top choice. I got into my other schools but the tuition makes me rather just wait to apply/get into a lower cost school eventually and hopefully sooner than later.

I applied to the two year program the same time I applied for this one. I don't even want to get my hopes up thinking I may get into that one, lol.

Anyone with rejections, what are your plans now?? Where else did you apply and are you going accept another school or apply more?

Also, good luck to everyone who got in. You'll do great! It'll be well worth it!!! ?

I was accepted to Utica College (16 months) and Binghamton University - SUNY (12 months). They're both about the same distance from home for me but Binghamton had lower tuition and a shorter program so it just made sense.

Was the tuition for your other schools significantly higher, even when taking into account cost of living? I would say go with your gut but if you got into another school with good reviews then I say go for it (if you feel okay with the tuition) because then you get to start working as a nurse even sooner

Well I have also applied to Mount Sinai Philip's School of Nursing and Mercy College. They haven't started reviewing applications yet, so here we go again with the waiting.

Is anyone interested in making a facebook group? I am not technologically savvy so if someone would make it that would be great! Or I can attempt, lol

I was rejected from Mercy College for Spring start. You could look into Utica college for Summer start and I believe LIU Brooklyn has a program also.

Ok, I have applied for the Summer start, so fingers cross I will get into one of these two schools. Do you need the TEAS for LIU Brooklyn??

No, they do not require the TEAS.

...still nothing over here...
