Hi all,
Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.
I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?
Just now, slorte said:Maybe they aren't even choosing from the people who interviewed???? Like choosing from all the applicants ? Because why would they say high volume of applicants...
I think they’re lying lol
I think there was some kind of issue or change due in part to the new dean and they’re trying to pretend the delay is because of “volume”. During my interview they told me there were only about 400-500ish applications submitted, which is either comparable or less than previous years.

Yeah I 100% agree with you!! I think it is due to something else!

I hope that that’s the case! I still feel like this is a long time to pick 80 of 160 people, though. I’m extra frustrated/nervous/everything else because I feel poorly about how my interview went and to have waited 3 months for a rejection letter would suck ?
I doubt they are taking a holistic approach if it’s taking this long. Some applicants come from a private college and have a different timeline in submitting course grades than CUNY/SUNY schools. Clinical experience might help, but based on my interview it does not seem to be necessary. Personally, I would like an applicant to have experience, because at least they know what they are getting themselves into.

That’s why this is so strange to me! And from my understanding, the class size is 80 students.
