StonyBrook ABSN: Class of 2021

Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.

I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

I’m so curious as to whether or not rejections have already started going out or if the process is just delayed compared to last year. I have a friend who said she is going to call this afternoon if no one has heard anything by then!

I feel like things were most likely just changed this year with the new director... I feel like if something went out we would have heard about it one way or another, whether it be from someone directly in this thread or word of mouth from other applicants... either way the wait is killing me lmao and because it is already 12:45pm, I feel like nothing is going to be sent out today.

Do notifications/decisions only go out in the morning?

I honestly have no idea lmao I just kind of put it in my own head that if I don't hear by 1pm to expect not to hear that day (I think I just trained myself to think this way so I didn't spend all day/every day stressing lol).

It’s just so frustrating that none of their answers are consistent. I wish they just picked one day and stuck to it so we could know when to expect something. I’ll let you guys know what they say when my friend calls!

I know it really is so frustrating, especially that almost all other schools have sent out their decisions. I don't want to pay to confirm my seat at another school until I know about SBU, but I also don't want to lose the opportunity because some schools have a time limit in which they want a response. And yes, please and thank you!!!

This is my EXACT struggle right now. SBU is my top choice but I was accepted elsewhere and have been procrastinating the enrollment process

UGH she said she called a few minutes ago and they were closed! They apparently close at 3PM, even though appointments can be made through 4PM. Sorry, guys. ?

When I was accepted three years ago, my email came in the afternoon/evening! And I received it the week between Christmas and New Years. Hope this helps!

Last year, they sent out acceptances December 18th! That’s tomorrow ??
