Hi all,
Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.
I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

Just got back from the info session. They will review all applications once the deadline closes so they can compare the entire applicant pool at once (admission decisions are NOT rolling).
For the accelerated and basic baccalaureate programs, their admission criteria is:1. 3 Recommendation letters submitted online
2. Cumulative GPA from all schools attended (undergrad if applicable plus pre-requisites and any other coursework completed).
- The minimum GPA for your application to be considered is 2.8 however the students who received admissions offers in last year's class had an average GPA around 3.5
3. Cumulative GPA from your pre-requisite science courses only (Anatomy + Physiology I+II, Microbiology, Chemistry). You must have 3 of the 4 of these classes completed by the application deadline in order to be considered, no exceptions. If you don't have 3 by Oct 3, your application won't be reviewed and it was suggested you should try for the basic baccalaureate program (deadline Jan 9, 2020)
- Cumulative pre-req sciences GPA of admitted students last year was 3.7-3.8

do you happen to know what their typical GPA requirement is? I know they say 3.0 on their website but I’m wondering if they are looking more for higher 3 GPA’s.
On the website i see 2.8 min
I have a lot of experience, Medical assistant, volunteer, activities asst, home health aide, my gpa from undergead is a 2.97 and post grade i have A, Bs, and one C plus in pre req. does that mean i shouldnt bother applying? my personal statement is also super unique. Does that mean I shouldnt bother applying / waste of time if they will filter my app out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks guys.

Hi!
you should still apply! The worst thing you can do is deny yourself the option of trying. Every year is often different so maybe they will look more into your application and like your personal statement.
this will be my 3rd time applying. I have already been accepted to another nursing school but I decided to try one last time ? so definitely give it your best shot!

I agree, I think you should definitely go for it! "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." ?

I'm assuming (and hoping) that since the deadline for the previous years is consistent with this years deadline, the timeline should be relatively the same. If that's true, we could expect emails for interviews as early as next week/ two weeks from now ...

Thank you! How do you know they are flexible? I only ask because I was looking for it on their website. I am super nervous too. My letters are glowing and my PS is really unique. I hope they dont have a screening in which they toss out my application just because I dont have a high gpa. Good lck!
