StonyBrook ABSN: Class of 2021

Published

Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.

I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

Specializes in Student.

Is anyone else scheduled for an interview Wednesday, November 6th at 10am?

Is anyone scheduled to interview tomorrow at 10am?

I honestly don't think I interviewed well. It sucks because I have been working so hard for this moment so I just really hope I didn't blow it. But what's done is done- we will see in a few months

Thank you for asking. That's very nice

You’re not alone. We’re in the same boat

@slorte @damec At the info session I attended over the summer they explained that they do the writing prompt at the interview because there were cases of applicants plagiarising or having someone else write their personal statement, so the prompt at the interview is proof that their writing is authentic/truly their own.

That being said, when I interviewed yesterday they mentioned that although the interview is important, it doesn't weigh so heavily on your overall application. In my opinion I think they bring applicants in to try to get to know them better and put a face to a name. This is a nerve wracking process and I'm sure the interviewers understand that we can get nervous! So I wouldn't worry too much if you don't think your interview went as well as you would have liked. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you. This was reassuring! Good luck to you!

Does anybody know how many math problems they have? And if it was 25 minutes or 35 minutes?

The math was 1 full page, both front and back. The exact number of problems I dont remember. And you have 25 minutes to complete it.

Thank you for the response did you feel like you had enough time to complete everything?

You should have plenty of time to complete everything. If math isn't your stong point I would definitely practice the things they sent in the email.
