Stony Brook's ABSN Class of 2023

Published

Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!

I applied to the 2 year too, and honestly I'd rather be in that program to have a better life balance and be able to learn slower, but I accepted the ABSN offer so I wouldn't miss the deadline.

I am telling myself it's better to finish earlier even if the year is extremely painful and I have to dedicate every waking hour to it. I also just assumed their system will delete my BSN app, but I'm not sure how it works. Did you reach out to them about that?

I inquired about what to do since I was waiting on word about the 2 year, and they said to accept the seat in the Accelerated since they’re still reviewing applications for the 2 year. There was no mention of them scratching the 2 year application. I’m under the impression that it still goes through as it normally would. I imagine they know some people might have a preference of the 2 year over the 1 year and would have to accept the 1 year for now since that deadline is first? Anyone else have any insight into this?

does anyone know if you paid for another application and didn’t complete it (and don’t intend to) could you get a refund? I must’ve applied to 4 schools already that aren’t due until March and now that I’m going to stony I have no intention on finishing the apps but paid about $100 each.

Has anyone received information on how to set up their NETID yet? I paid my tuition and orientation deposit on Saturday.

I would say to wait a couple more days. They sent me everything for NETID but I put my deposit in a little before you.

Hi again all, does anyone happen to know what a typical schedule is for the year? I found a thread with some good information but it was posted in 2016 so I'm not sure how relevant it is.

I'm also so curious as to how much/if any classes will be virtual, being that it could potentially save a good chunk of time every day.

I actually received info about an hour ago! Be on the look out.

Hi everyone! Congrats to those who got accepted! I accepted admission on solar last Wednesday and I still don't have the option appearing to pay the deposits. Admissions said they're working on it but still no progress. I'm just curious is anyone else having this issue still?

Thank you, it was very informative!

Hi guys I still haven’t received an e-mail regarding the program schedule and information. Did anyone else get theirs? I paid my tuition deposit and my orientation fee on January 28th. Should I email admissions?

for everyone who got accepted, are you between other schools!? I feel like so many of us are waiting on other schools, etc.

so stressful!

If you look in past threads, it looks like no one gets their schedule of classes or clinical assignments until the week/a few days before classes start. I'm hoping we'll get more info before then, but it won't be a schedule unfortunately.

Ohh I see! Are we going to get an e-mail with any information about the program at all? Cause I think in the acceptance letter they said that we should expect something.
