Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!

out of curiousity,
is this program considered a graduate or undergraduate program? I’m trying to fill out a FAFSA and don’t know if it counts as a 5th year undergrad or 1st year graduate/professional… I know the application was under the graduate program/portal???
It’s an undergraduate program

Should I be doing that now? LOL no one has heard anything about plans for orientation, enrollment, where exactly to send transcripts, right? I keep checking my email and solar and everywhere to make sure I haven’t missed anything after the deposit!
I sent in my transcripts. If you go on the website where you applied for the Accelerated program, you'll see an FAQ section and scroll down, there's an address listed on where transcripts need to be sent. Admissions told me we should start to receive emails with more information around mid-April. I'm guessing we learn about how to enroll in classes during orientation?
I am also curious about FAFSA, I had just assumed that since it's a second Bachelor's that financial aid isn't on the table but I would love to know if anyone had any success or got any info!
ETA: sorry, meant to reply to @mj452
Hi everyone, I’m so glad this forum has helped many of you! I love the community! I recently got an interview for the Basic program and wanted to kindly ask for some guidance. For those who have gone through the interview and testing process (I’m assuming it’ll be similar to the accelerated program), could you guys share your tips for the interview? Like what type of questions was the interview mostly of? And for the writing test, is it more of a scenario question or more of a general nursing question? Any advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much in advance! And good luck to those applying to other schools and interviewing as well!
Hi, for those that got accepted into the ABSN program 2023, did anyone hear from Stony Brook about any information regarding the start of the program yet? I still don’t know when classes start or what classes we are taking. Or even when the orientation is and I feel like June is approaching so soon. Am I missing any information? Please let me know ?

I believe classes start June 6th, and orientation a few days before that. I’m guessing we find out what classes we are taking during orientation?

the academic calendar on the website has the semester dates up. it's 6/6 to 8/16 for our 10-week Summer, then a 1 week break, then 15-week fall semester, then about a 1 month break, then 12-week Spring semester + 3 week capstone. Based on past threads, Summer classes are all day MWF, Tues is skills lab, then clinicals are 12 hours Thursday, Sat or Sun. But, can't say for sure that this will still be the case for this Summer.
I think we should have 2 full days off in the Summer but we won't know which until they give clinical assignments and our schedules. Pretty sure everything except orientation is going to be in person. My neurotic brain is having a lot of trouble dealing wtih all the not knowing, so I have been studying past threads a lot LOL

Have you talked to someone in the program to find out orientation is right before the start date? I was hoping it would be sooner so we'd get information earlier than right before it starts.

No I never spoke with someone directly, I was just going off of the info I saw on the facebook group, there was a post about this on there. I wish I had more information!

I am going to try and find out more specifics. I have a trip planned that first week of June and have heard orientation is online but not much more than that
