Nursing Students NP Students

I'm just finishing up my application for the FNP program at Stony Brook for Summer 2019..Anyone else applying?

Does anyone know how many times students are expected on-site?

I also got the weird email on 2/14. Not celebrating yet til I get official word.

I too received that email on 2/14. I have been trying to confirm my acceptance on my SOLAR account, but there is nothing there. I've contacted the school of health sciences several times, and no one can give me a clear answer. Has anyone else had this problem? I remember at my interview they stated that we must accept our admission on SOLAR within a week of receiving the email or we forfeit our seat in the program, so I just don't want to miss this deadline.

I don’t have a student ID. I have no idea where I’d get that from. I called yesterday for clerification and left a message. I didn’t get a call back. The letter also said “spring 2019” in the body, I think it was a typo.

Don’t you need a student ID to access SOLAR? Where did you get yours? Is there another way to sign into SOLAR?

I emailed student services, and was told we get a solar ID upon admission the program, a decision email about acceptance will be sent out at the end of the month containing a solar ID.

So, did they tell you what this letter was? Is it an unofficial acceptance letter or a likely letter?

So it sounds like they will be sending us the acceptance email with the ID. I assume if they weren't going to accept you, then they wouldn't mention that the email will contain the solar ID because you wouldn't need one unless you were accepted.

If im not mistaken, at the interview, they mentioned that upon receiving an email with your decision, you will have to log into SOLAR and accept admission.

I suppose just as mentioned above, the username and password will be provided to log in.

I’m still confused as to what exactly the email we got was ; it is congratulating us not saying that we’re officially accepted. I guess I’ll go on the basis that it’s a “likely letter” and that I’ve been accepted. ??‍♀️

Just spoke with student services from the nursing department. The email is pretty much an unofficial acceptance. It’s not official so don’t make any life changing decisions but you can have a glass of wine. Oh boy! ??

I did my BSN at Stony Brook and when I was accepted into that program, I received an email from hscstudentservices with the official letter attached, and the SOLAR ID was provided within that letter. You are also given instructions for accepting the offer with the required tuition deposit.

I also received that same ambiguous email (dated 1/30 but sent on 2/14) and I just happen to have an active SOLAR account now from working at Stony Brook and whatnot. When I checked it tonight, there was nothing there for me to "accept." So what others are reporting in terms of the email being an unofficial acceptance is consistent with my own experience.

By the way, I called the School of Nursing and got the following dates for the summer and fall terms (in case others are planners like me and need to know these things way ahead of time): Summer term 5/28-7/19, Fall term 8/26-12/19.

So now, we just wait for the official letter!

Check your emails! I just received the official acceptance! Yahoo! Now, s%#^ just got real! ?
