Stony Brook University FNP Summer 2019

I'm just finishing up my application for the FNP program at Stony Brook for Summer 2019..Anyone else applying?

Does anyone know how many times students are expected on-site?

Has anyone heard back yet?

I got an email today with a tentative acceptance. It’s a weird email. It says that my application has been “favorably” reviewed and that the final decision will be made in March. It congratulated me at the end but also emphasized that the Dean of nursing makes the final decision. Anyone else get this email?

I also applied for Stony Brooks FNP for summer 2019. I attended their group interview in early December. I have yet to hear back from them. If you received a tentative acceptance email now, this is exciting as it seems some progress is being made. Having been almost 2 and a half months since the interview now, this day to day waiting could drive anyone crazy.

Hi I received that same email! On Valentine’s Day! I don’t know exactly what it means or how to interpret it, it’s pretty confusing.

I got mine on Valentine's Day, too. So, after googling the heck out of what it may be, I came to the conclusion that it’s a “likely letter” ??? If you google that, it pretty much says it’s an acceptance and we’ll find out in 2 weeks. Also, my letter was dated 1/30/2019 and not sent out until February 14th.

That’s what it sounded like, as if they just have to check the basic credentials now and review it to make sure it’s all satisfactory with the dean? Mine was dated 1/30 as well, confused me! I wasn’t sure if I should respond. Do you have a student ID to sign onto solar? I don’t have one but I was told that is where to look as well.

I don’t have a student ID. I have no idea where I’d get that from. I called yesterday for clerification and left a message. I didn’t get a call back. The letter also said “spring 2019” in the body, I think it was a typo.

I did not receive an email either. As of now, I’m pretty bummed but I’m not sure whether to take that as a rejection. Hopefully official letters come soon! The waiting is awful!

I’m assuming if we haven’t received anything yet that means we didn’t get in. Hopefully they let us know soon instead of making us wait. Congrats guys!

Lets not give up hope just yet. If you look at this thread from previous years, you would see there’s a wide timeline of when acceptance letters were received. Whether it be a few days or weeks, there’s many that received some feedback long after someone first mentions having received something. The waiting is horrible, but don’t give up hope.

That’s good to hear! The waiting is awful, hopefully we hear soon!
