Stony Brook U ABSN - Summer 2010 Applicants

Anyone else applying to the Accelerated BSN?? Deadline is November 1st ... YIKES! ... :eek: ... need moral support :D !!

OH God to my fellow obsessors... You are the only ones who understand, Sorry to make you freak more! I checked my solar just now and there is a New Students tab!!! I have tabs to pay my deposit, set new student preferences and finaical aid I think... But when I click pay the deposit I get this:

Your admission status/term is not eligible for deposit processing. Please contact Admissions for further information

And when I click new student preferences I get this:

Welcome to Stony Brook University!

Our records indicate that you have not been admitted to the HSC, WEST, or Southampton campus for the current application terms, hence this application does not apply to you, please exit out of this link.

I am completely freaking and of course the admissions office closes at 4?? Who closes at 4?? and doesnt open up again until 10am? Does it mean I am wait listed... this is just cruel!!

Does anyone else have the same?

Oh no.. I don't see anything like that! Where exactly is this New Students tab you see? When I sign in I see "Security and Personal Data," "Emergency info," and "Student Admission." Under "student admission" it's the same Applicant info that's always been there.. I can't stand all this playing detective! Dear Stony Brook, just tell me if I made it or not pretty please...

I don't have any new tabs that I can find either... sadness! WTH SBU?? I really hope they are taking Fall 09 grades into account for those of us still in school.... :eek:

I hear you!!! Its like a little hope then they take it away! Cara, On the main sign-in screen a new tab comes up right under Student Admissions, looks just like the others but instead of 3 I have 5. The 2 new ones are New Students & Financail Aid.... But when I go in it says I havent been accepted... so who knows!!

Hey!...i have the same two tabs..ahhh it is driving me nuts. I just want to know what it means..like now. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully we will know soon. :)

I don't have those new tabs either, but I am not going to freak out just yet ... :D

Maybe it says "records indicate that you have not been admitted to the HSC, WEST, or Southampton campus for the current application terms" because we're in the spring and our applications are for the summer? That's my guess.

All of this application stuff is making me so nervous...now i have to check. if it has a new students tab it probably means you got in. sb is my alma mater and i remember the new students tab when i got accepted(not for nursing). Congrats to you if you got in:) Maybe they wont let it say accepted b4 they send out the letters. i am happy for you if you did get in. keep us updated...for the rest of us dont freak out just yet. sometimes the system doesnt update for everyone at the same time plus if you are on the waiting list they say there is a good chance you will get called for an open space. they said at the info session that the waiting listing is usually exhausted by program starts b/c people decide they dont want to come to sbu or can't find the money b/c its hard to work during the 1yr program. I did some stalker calling until I got through to a real person who took my message. I also asked about why none of my documents carried over to my 2 year application. They finally called back and explained that there was a glitch but they would make sure my records from my 1 year transfered to my 2 year. So if you applied to both, I would check to make sure they noted your documents in Solar and if not call and have them do it.

As the my burning question she said that they do not discuss addmission decisions over the phone and the letters were mailed this week so I should get it soon. I live about 30 min from Stonybrook so if I do not get a letter soon I will have to stake out my post office!! :)
